Abortion activists want to see Hillary Clinton become president, and billionaire George Soros is one of them.
Soros is not only pouring his fortune into abortion groups like Planned Parenthood that are backing Clinton, but he also is giving millions to the pro-abortion candidate through other, more direct sources.
The Free Beacon reports Soros donated $2.5 million on Aug. 31 to the super PAC Priorities USA, which is supporting Clinton, according to filings released by the Federal Election Commission. That is in addition to another $7 million that Soros donated to the super PAC for Clinton late last year, according to the report.
Forbes ranks Soros as the 23rd richest person in the world. He is a regular major donor to pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia groups. Soros is just one source of anti-life groups’ funding. Warren Buffett, the third richest in the world, also is a major donor to pro-abortion causes, as is Bill Gates, who ranks first, and Mark Zuckerberg, who ranks sixth.
Buffett donated $35 million to Planned Parenthood and $23 million to the National Abortion Federation in 2014 alone, Inside Philanthropy reports. Soros also gave Planned Parenthood more than $18 million since 2010 through his Open Society Foundations, according to the records.
The abortion industry, including Planned Parenthood, has found its champion in Clinton, who promised that she would try to repeal the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to fund abortions.
Abortion activists also know that the next president could have the chance to nominate up to four U.S. Supreme Court justices – and sway the political leanings of the court for decades. Clinton promised to nominate U.S. Supreme Court justices who will ensure that Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand up until birth remain the law of the land for years to come.
In July, Planned Parenthood described Clinton as “the strongest nominee we’ve ever seen on women’s health and rights.”
Soros, Planned Parenthood and Clinton are closely connected. After the Center for Medical Progress exposed Planned Parenthood’s baby body parts trafficking, the abortion giant asked Soros for $1.5 million to help with damage control, according to the Free Beacon.
Clinton also reportedly has been influenced by the pro-abortion billionaire on government affairs. Recently released emails from Clinton’s private server showed that the billionaire gave Clinton advice on foreign policy, The Blaze reported. In the email from 2011, Soros told then-Secretary of State Clinton that “two things need to be done urgently” to address political unrest in Albania.
In July, Soros committed to donating $25 million to Clinton and other pro-abortion Democrats’ election campaigns, Politico reported.
