In Minnesota, pastor and theologian John Piper addressed a crowd of 6,000 protestors at the “National Day of Protest Against Planned Parenthood,” which took place on August 22nd.
The protests were a response to eight undercover videos exposing the abortion company’s scandalous organ harvesting business. The latest videos catch the abortion company harvesting the brain of an aborted baby who was still alive and shows StemExpress CEO, Cate Dyer, explaining that Planned Parenthood sells fully intact aborted babies.
At the protest, Piper said, “We want to pray for Planned Parenthood that they might live to righteousness. We wanna ask that according to their title that is on their wall, Planned Parenthood, that they would bring about nurturing parents rather than helping parents stop being parents by killing their children. We ask that You’d grant that they would see along with our nation that killing children is not an acceptable solution to a crisis pregnancy. There are other ways forward. You’re God, You make ways for people out of difficulties, and killing is not one of them.”

The Christian Post reports that the theologian also prayed for truth to change the hearts and minds of people involved in abortion.
He said, “We want to just pause and stand in awe of You for a moment because You made us, You made all the children, You made all the abortionists. You are our Creator. You uphold all things by the Word of of your power. You sustain all things. You govern all things. You say, ‘I’m God and there’s no other. I’m God and there’s none like Me.’ …You are God, and we are not.” Piper served as the senior pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis for 33 years.
On DesiringGod.com, Piper explained why he decided to join the Planned Parenthood protests.
He said, “They are killing human beings in there. They cut them in pieces — usually. Sometimes, as the most recent video shows, they manage to get an ‘intact fetal cadaver.’” Additionally, in his blog post, he criticized President Obama for his radical support of abortion.
He said, “We have no moral leadership in the White House on this supremely important issue facing — staring down — our nation. President Obama refused even to support the protection of children who are four-fifths out of the womb in the process of birth (partial-birth abortion). He supports the right of doctors to pull a baby out, all but the head, and then suck the brains out, and deliver the child dead, so it can be called an abortion, and not infanticide. When a nation has no moral voice at the highest levels of governance, special means of expression may be called for.”
As LifeNews previously reported, the Obama administration has refused to say much in regards to the Planned Parenthood videos, except that there’s “not a lot of evidence” that the company violated any standards or rules. Unbelievably, White House press secretary, Josh Earnest, made those remarks after admitting he had not watched any of the Planned Parenthood footage.
In July, Rev. Franklin Graham and Baptist theologian Albert Mohler commented on Planned Parenthood’s lucrative business after the initial footage was released. Rev. Graham said, “Abortion is a sin and is clearly murder in God’s eyes. The people who perform it have no conscience, so I’m not at all surprised that they would be selling organs, tissue, and body parts from babies. Planned Parenthood should be put out of business. They’ve done enough damage.”

In some ways, Mohler used even stronger language than Rev. Graham to describe Planned Parenthood and said they “stand at the epicenter of the Culture of Death.” He also dismissed the abortion giant’s justifications for their executive’s unbelievable comments.
He said, “They are not going to be able to explain this video away. I have no reason to believe that the video is anything less than totally credible. But, even if Planned Parenthood somehow finds a way to evade justice in terms of criminal activity, the part of the video that Planned Parenthood does not –and cannot — deny reveals their senior medical director enjoying a conversation over a meal in which she describes tearing apart the bodies of unborn human beings in order to get the desired organ: “I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
