Jacob Hollister, an NFL tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, is displaying his pro-life values on the field this winter.

Hollister recently chose to honor mothers and unborn babies by displaying a pro-life image on his cleats, according to Live Action. He also is supporting the life-saving work of Live Action, a pro-life organization founded to promote the dignity and value of all human life, especially babies in the womb.

“Both moms and babies have equal worth and demand equal protection,” Hollister said in a video shared by Live Action. “I’m thankful and happy to support Live Action who gives those babies a voice.”

His cleats display the image of a pregnant mother with a heart inside her womb representing her unborn baby. Written in pink next to the mother and child are the words “Love them both.”

“I don’t think there’s any better way to illustrate how I feel about it,” Hollister said, holding his cleats.

Also a devout Christian, the athlete said he hopes the pro-life statement he is making will encourage more people to love both mother and child.

“To be honest, at first I was really hesitant to do it, not because I’m afraid of any confrontation or any arguments around the subject,” he said. “It’s really just because I feared that anybody who feels differently than I do about [abortion] would feel anything but love from me. The way that I was raised and the way I try to live my life to the best of my ability is to love people first in everything I do and love people well.”

Live Action thanked Hollister for using his fame to help unborn babies, approximately 2,363 of whom are aborted every single day in the United States.

“Thank you @hollister_jacob!” the organization responded on Twitter. “We are grateful for your compassion and love for moms and babies as we work together to build a culture of life in America. We need more men like you!”
