The Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, the second largest Planned Parenthood facility in the United States, gave the award to its Aurora abortion facility for exceeding its quota of abortions in the first half of 2013. This award is proof that Planned Parenthood has given each of its clinics a quota to strive for.
Planned Parenthood performed 327,166 abortions while collecting $540.6 million in tax payer funds from the federal and state authorities in 2012. This figure is down on 2011 and this is a cause of concern to Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is an affiliate of the International Planned Parenthood Federation [IPPF]. The New Zealand Family Planning Association is also an affiliate of the IPPF, shares the same aims and objectives and would have a similar business plan to that of Planned Parenthood.
Family Planning, like Planned Parenthood is in business to make a profit. Its business is selling sex to our children and teenagers. Family Planning is at the forefront of promoting contraception sterilisation and abortion as a backup for failed contraceptives. It knows that the more girls and women it can encourage to be sexually active the more abortions there will be. Family Planning has since February 2012 a limited licence for its Tauranga clinic to terminate the lives of the unborn up to 12 weeks gestation. In March 2009 Family Planning announced in a media release that it was its intention to make all of its 30 clinics nationwide, abortion clinics. Performing abortions will be a lucrative source of income provided by the taxpayer and will improve the Associations bottom line.
Statistics NZ recently advised that in 2013 that there were 90 unborn children killed at the Family Planning clinic in Tauranga in 2013.
Right to Life asks the Association what is the quota of abortions the clinic staff are expected to meet in 2014.
Right to Life believes that the Family Planning Association is strongly pro-abortion and unsuitable to be granted a licence to terminate the lives of unborn children. The Association is a strong supporter of the Green Party’s policy to decriminalise abortion. This would mean that it would no longer be a crime to kill an unborn child. An abortion could be for any reason or for no reason, effectively for the whole nine months of pregnancy.

The Association receives in excess of $10 million each year from government. Right to Life believes that in the light of the damage inflicted on our community by Family Planning this funding should stop.
The Association is the major abortion referral agency in New Zealand. The Association is the most serious threat in New Zealand to the human rights of our children in the womb. Right to Life earnestly requests, that the Abortion Supervisory Committee withdraws the Family Planning abortion licence for Tauranga and refrains from issuing any further abortion licences to this Association.
