Argentina President Javier Milei slammed abortion and radical feminism in an address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.
Milei used a 20-minute speech to how socialism ultimately leads to poverty, how the state “is not the solution,” but rather “the problem itself,” and how leftism has co-opted democracies around the world to further its agenda.
The president condemned abortion, saying “we all have the same rights, rights granted by the Creator.”
“The only thing that this agenda of radical feminism has resulted in is greater intervention by the State to hinder economic growth, giving work to bureaucrats who did not contribute anything to society, whether in the format of the Ministry of Women or in international organizations dedicated to promoting this agenda,” he continued.
“They [socialists] maintain that human beings damage the planet and that it must be protected at all costs, even going so far as to advocate for population control mechanisms or the bloody agenda of abortion,” he added. “These harmful ideas have strongly permeated society.”
Milei said that socialism and the radical leftist agenda of abortion is destroying the world.

“I am here today to tell you that the West is in danger. It is in danger because those who are supposed to uphold the values of the West find themselves co-opted by a worldview that inexorably leads to socialism, and consequently, to poverty,” Milei said.
“Because it must never be forgotten that socialism is always and everywhere an impoverishing phenomenon that failed in all the countries where it was tried,” Milei said. “It was an economic failure. It was a social failure. It was a cultural failure. It also took the lives of 150 million human beings.”
Milei explained that the left was able to achieve its goals “thanks to the appropriation of the media, culture, universities and international organizations. This last case is the most serious because they have influence on political decisions.”
In 2020, Argentina’s senate passed a bill which legalised abortion until 14 weeks gestation, with exceptions in cases of rape or if the pregnancy is a risk to the mother’s health.
A few days prior to Milei being elected as president, he and Victoria Villarruel, who has since become the vice president-elect of Argentina, made it known that they “are both pro-life” and that “there has to be a discussion” about the pro-abortion bill that the Argentine Congress passed in December 2020.
Villarruel spoke on Argentinian TV program, TV program “Solo Una Vuelta Más” (“Just One More Turn”), about the abortion legislation in Argentina. She stated that the discussion on the matter should “take place on a scientific basis and serious arguments and not as ideological as those that coloured the promulgation of the law.” She continued “Today you find women who are aborting children at term. It seems to me that that’s [not the way it ought to be]”
Milei, is a 53 year old self described “anarcho-capitalist”, won the election with 55.7% of the vote to Sergio Massa, who received 44.3%.
In a statement regarding a potential repeal of the current laws on abortion in Argentina, Milei said “When you construct on the basis of an incorrect moral principle, the result is filth. How can being able to kill other human beings be a right gained? As a liberal, I believe in the unrestricted right to life based on the defence of life, liberty and property. I defend life, biology says that life begins with conception.”
