Snopes just published a bizarre but positive fact check that confirms unborn babies smile in the womb.

Earlier this week, an unnamed Facebook user asked Snopes to fact check a LifeNews post that showed two images of a smiling baby: One was the ultrasound image of the baby smiling in the womb, and the other was the baby smiling as a newborn.

“Baby before birth. Baby after,” the LifeNews post read.

Apparently, someone did not believe it was true. According to Snopes, the reader thought the unborn baby’s image was not real.

“I saw the attached photo on Facebook on a friend’s page,” the reader asked. “The ‘before’ looks Photoshopped to me, but I don’t know how to check that. Thank you.”

Snopes, which is left-leaning and pro-abortion, did check, and it confirmed that LifeNews shared the truth.

“Despite this reader’s skepticism, we soon found data that showed both of these images were real, and that neither of them had been doctored,” its fact checker found.

The ultrasound image came from the parents of a British boy named Leo David Hargreaves, who was born in 2014. According to the Manchester Evening News, the sonographer at Babybond Ultrasound Direct in Burnley who performed the ultrasound described Leo as “the smiliest baby we’ve ever seen.”

Leo’s is just one of many images that LifeNews has shared over the years to help society understand the value of babies in the womb. They show unborn babies smilingwaving, sucking their thumbs, yawning and even picking their noses. These images and many more are proof that babies in the womb are babies – unique, living human beings who act and react in much the same way that born babies do.

In recent decades, scientific research has provided even more details about unborn babies’ development. Studies indicate they dream, feel pain, begin to learn and remember, develop a taste for specific foods and much more before they leave the womb.

All these things point to the value of unborn babies, something abortion activists don’t want to be reminded of. They counteract the lies of the abortion industry and the fears of desperate mothers and fathers facing an unplanned pregnancy. The truth is powerful and life-saving.
