When the Kentucky abortion ban granted life protections to thousands of unborn babies, it also killed the abortion industry.

EMW Women’s Surgical Center, the oldest abortion facility in the state, stopped aborting unborn babies in August. Now, its Louisville building is listed for sale, Kentucky Today reports.

For three decades, the abortion facility killed unborn babies in elective abortions, including about 3,000 annually in recent years, according to the report. The facility also had a history of health and safety violations that put pregnant mothers’ lives at risk, including a “significant quantity” of expired medication, medical equipment covered in dust, dirt and grime; and improper sanitation.

Now, the building could be transformed into something good for the community, such as a medical facility or a pregnancy resource center.

The listing price is $3.5 million for the Market Street building, and the description says the location “benefits from high foot traffic and excellent visibility making it an attractive option for any business,” according to the report.

The real estate agent told the news outlet that they already have received several calls expressing interest in the property.

For a while, EMW was the only abortion facility in Kentucky. However, a Planned Parenthood opened in Louisville in 2016 and began aborting unborn babies in the city, too. Between the two, they aborted approximately 4,000 unborn babies every year under Roe v. Wade.

After the Dobbs v. Jackson decision last June, both abortion facilities sued to block the state abortion ban, but the Kentucky Supreme Court allowed the law to go into effectThe law protects unborn babies and mothers by banning elective abortions; it still allows emergency care if the mother’s life is at risk.

The Planned Parenthood in Louisville remains open, but it isn’t aborting unborn babies anymore. The national abortion chain recently announced massive layoffs as a result of state pro-life laws.

June 24 will mark one year since the historic Dobbs ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade and began allowing states to protect unborn babies from abortion again. Currently, 15 states protect unborn babies by banning all or most abortions, and others are fighting in court to do the same. Research from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America estimates roughly 60,000 unborn babies have been saved from abortion since the ruling.
