Dutch Commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek: “There is Nothing More Evil Than Abortion”

Eva Vlaardingerbroek, a popular conservative voice in The Netherlands, slammed abortion as “evil” and “degenerate” Sunday on Twitter in response to an article about young people aborting unborn babies out of fear of climate change.

Breitbart reports Vlaardingerbroek is a political commentator who recently gained popularity for defending Dutch farmers and their opposition to restrictive new “green” farming regulations by the European Union.

On Sunday, she reacted to an article in the newspaper Algemeen Dagblad in Rotterdam about young adults who are afraid to have children because of the “climate crisis.”

“There is nothing more narcissistic, degenerate and evil to me than people who propagate abortion or not having children because of ‘climate change’ or ‘the current state of the world,’” Vlaardingerbroek responded.

One young woman featured in the article, Zoe, said she aborted her unborn baby because she did not want to bring a child into a world with so many environmental problems.

But Vlaardingerbroek said young people like Zoe have their priorities mixed up. She urged them to look back through history and consider how much harder people’s lives were centuries ago, and yet they would not think about killing their children.

“Sacrificing humanity in order to ‘save’ the planet. These people have very interesting priorities,” she wrote. “… If you think your life is ‘hard’ or the world is too ‘unfair’ to bring a child into it, think for one d— second about the lives our ancestors lived and how it never even would have crossed their minds to kill their own babies for a second. Get a grip, you weak-minded morons.”

Vlaardingerbroek’s comments went viral and caught the attention of billionaire and Twitter owner Elon Musk.

“True,” Musk replied. “What’s actually happening in most countries is population collapse! Very important to make new humans. No new humans means no humanity.”

Many rich and powerful voices have been stoking fears about overpopulation – and linking it to environmental problems — for more than a century. Some environmentalists have called for regulations to limit the number of children to reduce the earth’s “carbon footprint.” But as Musk said in a 2021 interview, these fears have been widely overblown – sometimes with disastrous results.

Birth rates have been declining across the world, including in many Asian and European countries where the number of births is below replacement level. As a result, the population is expected to shrink in the coming years – leading to fewer workers and fewer young adults to care for the elderly.
