Governor Tim Walz wants Minnesota to have a new nickname – the Abortion State.

The Democrat governor just sign a bill making Minnesota a sanctuary for killing babies in abortions. That means the state is on record as making it so no abortionist who kills a baby in an abortion up to birth will be prosecuted for taking the child’s life.

Practically speaking, that means that laws passed in other states have no effect in Minnesota.

“It’s done,” Walz said Thursday after signing the measure.

“In Minnesota, we’re protecting rights – not taking them away,” Walz tweeted about the bill, clearly ignoring the fact that he just signed away the right to life for unborn children.

Ironically the signature comes just days after North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed a pro-life bill into law that bans abortions starting at 6 weeks when an unborn baby’s heartbeat can easily be detected.

“This bill clarifies and refines existing state law … and reaffirms North Dakota as a pro-life state,” Burgum said in a statement about his signature.

Republican Sen. Janne Myrdal, of Edinburg, sponsored the pro-life measure, which makes the state the 15th to have a law in place that is actively saving babies from abortions.

“North Dakota has always been pro-life and believed in valuing the moms and children both,” Myrdal said in an interview. “We’re pretty happy and grateful that the governor stands with that value.”
