Wisconsin Residents Should Vote for Dan Kelly for Supreme Court

On Tuesday, April 4th, Wisconsin voters will have the opportunity to fill an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The race has drawn national attention and the abortion issue has been front and center. As it stands, the Court is evenly divided 3-3 between justices who have upheld legal protections for unborn children and their mothers and justices who have ruled in favor of the abortion industry.

If abortion advocates come away from this election with a 4-3 majority on the court, it would be a catastrophe for vulnerable unborn children and their mothers in Wisconsin.

The Candidates:

Dan Kelly, a former state Supreme Court Justice, is endorsed by Wisconsin Right to Life (WRTL), the state affiliate of National Right to Life. In their endorsement, Wisconsin Right to Life stated, “We appreciate (Kelly’s) integrity, honesty, and shared belief that the role of the judiciary is not to legislate, but to interpret laws and apply them as written.”

Janet Protasiewicz, the Democrat-backed candidate, has made no secret of her position in favor of unlimited abortion. If elected, there is little doubt that Protasiewicz would be an activist judge whose decisions would be more likely swayed by her pro-abortion ideology than the facts of a particular case.

Protasiewicz is endorsed by national pro-abortion groups like NARAL Pro-Choice America, EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest chain of abortion clinics.

On Monday, her campaign reported raising nearly $12.4 million in the final reporting period before the election. (By contrast, Kelly raised $2.2 million during the same period.) That should give an idea of just how badly pro-abortion Democrats want to win this election.

What’s at stake:

A pro-abortion majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court could doom future efforts to protect unborn children and their mothers in the state. Pro-abortion groups could even challenge existing protections that Wisconsin pro-lifers have spent years working to pass. We know that the pro-abortion movement’s ultimate goal is unlimited abortion, for any reason, even until the moment of birth, funded it with taxpayer dollars.

Democrats have also discussed openly that if they manage to wina majority on the court, they aim to strike down and redraw the Congressional and state legislative district lines currently in place in a shameless maneuver to expand their power.

According to an article in POLITICO; “A liberal takeover of the supreme court could even be a factor in the race for control of the U.S. House in 2024…Broadly, operatives on both sides believe a redrawn map could endanger the seats of Reps. Bryan Steil and Derrick Van Orden, the two Republicans who represent the red-leaning seats. And the district of Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) could be redrawn to become more competitive.”

Representatives Bryan Steil, Derrick Van Orden, and Mike Gallagher all hold strong pro-life voting records with National Right to Life. We need their pro-life voices in Congress. We cannot afford to have them replaced by pro-abortion Democrats who will vote for unlimited abortion until birth and the use of our tax dollars to pay for abortions.
