Pro-Life Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will deliver the response to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address later this month.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to address the nation and contrast the GOP’s optimistic vision for the future against the failures of President Biden and the Democrats,” she said in a statement. “We are ready to begin a new chapter in the story of America – to be written by a new generation of leaders ready to defend our freedom against the radical left and expand access to quality education, jobs, and opportunity for all.”
Huckabee was chosen by Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to represent Republicans in their rebuttal to Biden’s speech.
“The youngest governor in America, Sarah is fighting on behalf of parents, small businesses, and ordinary taxpayers. She is bringing new ideas for a changing future, while also applying the wisdom of the past, including from the leadership of her father, Mike,” McCarthy said, referencing Mike Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate.
Sanders is a pro-life advocates who had the support of pro-life groups during her campaign.

“Throughout her career, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has demonstrated that she is unapologetically pro-life and unafraid to be a voice for the voiceless,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Unborn children and their mothers in Arkansas will have a champion in Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Governor.”
During the Trump Administration, Sarah Huckabee Sanders served as White House Press Secretary, a role in which she regularly defended pro-life policies. During her tenure, she was a key voice in the Administration as it issued pro-life executive actions, nominated judges, and supported pro-life legislative efforts in Congress.
Sanders supports protections for unborn children and their mothers, and she opposes the use of tax dollars to pay for abortions or to subsidize the operations of abortion providers.
