California Grants Licenses Faster to Nurses Who Want to Kill Babies in Abortions

Nurses who agree to help abort unborn babies get special privileges in California.

Under a new law, nurses and other medical workers who are applying for licenses in the state may have their applications expedited if they agree to do abortions. California also began offering financial incentives to medical students to become abortionists this year.

These special privileges and incentives are the result of a collaboration between Gov. Gavin Newsom and the abortion industry to expand the killing of unborn babies in California in response to Roe v. Wade being overturned.

But many medical workers have been speaking out against these and other pro-abortion efforts, reminding politicians that killing unborn babies is not health care and doing so violates the oaths of doctors and nurses to “do no harm.”

One, “Kara,” recently shared her shock at learning about the new California law in an interview with Live Action News. The pro-life news site changed Kara’s name so she would not face repercussions for speaking out.

Kara recently graduated from nursing school and signed up with the California Board of Registered Nurses to take her licensing exam, according to the report.

“I was horrified when applying for the exam,” she said. “…There’s one way to expedite the process… one procedure that if you’re willing to do it and have paperwork about your intentions, the BRN will get you through faster… if you are willing to perform abortions.

“There were NO OTHER PROCEDURES they asked about to expedite your license. Not births, not hospice, not cancer treatment. . . just abortions,” Kara continued.

Doctors, midwives, physician assistants and nurse practitioners also can have their licensing applications expedited if they promise to do abortions, according to the report.

Kara said the fact that her state leaders would not only condone the killing of unborn babies but also incentivize doctors and nurses to participate in the deadly practice “shocked” and “disgusted” her.

“Abortion can never be health care because in health care and as nurses we take an oath to do no harm,” Kara told Live Action.

California aborted approximately 154,000 unborn babies in 2020, according to the Guttmacher Institute. Many expect those numbers will grow as a result of the law and other efforts to expand abortions by state lawmakers in recent months.

In June, Newsom signed a budget with $200 million dedicated specifically to expanding abortions, including a new, government-run website that tells women from other states how to come to California to abort their unborn babies. It includes $40 million to pay to abort unborn babies whose mothers do not already qualify for a Medicaid-funded abortion or have insurance coverage for the elective, life-destroying procedure, and $15 million to help pro-abortion groups advertise and promote abortions.

California has very few limits on abortion, and it forces taxpayers to pay for them. A new law that just went into effect forces all public colleges and universities to provide abortions on campus – even though California has the highest number of abortion facilities in the country at 168, according to a new ANSIRH study.
