Here are 11 Pro-Abortion Lies and Why They’re Totally False

During the early seventies before Roe, Dr. Bernard Nathanson and his colleagues fabricated lies about the number of illegal abortions and how many women died from them. He later became pro-life and admitted to these falsehoods, adding they were surprised the media ran with their misinformation without documentation.

Misrepresentations, fabrications, falsehoods, or lies – whatever you call them – continue to be a primary tool to advance abortion on demand until birth in America.

The propaganda machine continues to produce lies to advance their cause. Here are samples currently in their arsenal, including how you can respond with the truth. Pro-life education is the foundation on which we build victories to end abortion.

There are so many falsehoods, I decided to categorize them.

Fetal Development

There is no consensus when human life begins. The science deniers who make this claim ignore established scientific fact since 1942. The Carnegie Stages have been deemed the gold standard on fetal development by the secular National Institutes of Health, the National Museum of Health, and Medicine’s Human Developmental Anatomy Center. This research is regularly verified by dozens of leading Ph.D.s in human embryology. Across the globe, human embryologists who author textbooks on fetal development are required to rely on the Carnegie Stages, which categorically state that human life begins at fertilization.

It’s just a mass of tissue, not a baby. Abortionists developed a website called the MYA Network, where they show pictures of pregnancies from five to nine weeks and say there is no visible baby. What they don’t tell women is that they removed the unborn babies from the gestational sacks before the pictures were taken. Life Issues Institute’s documented images defy their propaganda.

There is no fetal heartbeat at six weeks. Recently, Chief Justice Donald Beatty of the South Carolina Supreme Court claimed babies don’t have a heartbeat at six weeks, adding that it’s merely an “electrical signal.” These science deniers would benefit from some basic research. Dr. Tara Sander Lee represents a vast majority of experts saying, “A preborn baby’s heart is actively beating at 6 weeks… In fact, at 6 weeks’ gestation, the baby’s heart rate is about 110 beats per minute, which can be easily detected by ultrasound.”

Women’s Health and Safety

Abortion is safer than childbirth. Not true. Research indicates that “compared to women who delivered their babies, women who had an early- or late-term abortion have significantly higher mortality rates within one to ten years of the event.”

Reversing a chemical abortion pill procedure is “junk science” and will result in the baby being profoundly deformed. The process of reversing a chemical abortion uses progesterone, a hormone used for several decades to protect at-risk pregnancies. Research shows that reversing chemical abortion has a 64-68% success rate. Further, the American Academy of Obstetricians and Gynecologists stated there is no evidence that reversing a chemical abortion will negatively impact the baby.

The chemical abortion process is like a heavy period and nearly painless. This statement conflicts with thousands of personal accounts from women around the world. I interviewed Elizabeth Gillette and Tammi Morris, who set the record straight.

Regret and remorse after abortion is a false claim invented by pro-lifers. In response to need, a plethora of organizations specialize in helping women and men cope after losing a child to abortion. There is also a growing body of evidence documenting their emotional anguish and torment.

The Reversal of Roe v. Wade

Pro-life laws make treatment for miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies difficult or impossible, and women will die. A state-by-state analysis of laws governing miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that in every state women will not be investigated or prosecuted in states that prohibit abortion, and will receive the medical care they need.

Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Pregnancy centers collect and use personal information against their clients. They are “abortion bounty hunters.” Heartbeat International represents thousands of centers and maintains that it “complies with all pertinent laws and regulations… It has not and does not share personally identifiable information with law enforcement, the public, nor any third party.”

These centers lure women under deceitful pretenses and give false information about abortion. The centers share medically accurate information such as ultrasound to ensure that women are fully informed before making a pregnancy decision. Centers do not hide their pro-life affiliation, nor the fact that they do not perform abortions at the centers.

Your child will not be able to walk, talk or do most of the things other children can do. Don’t put your child through that torture. These are often the words of medical doctors and other professionals to parents who are expecting a child with Down syndrome. They are patently false and based on outdated information and discriminatory attitudes. Individuals with Down syndrome contribute much to our society.
