Michigan Legalizes Abortions Up to Birth After Leftist Billionaires Spend Millions Buying Votes

Michigan will become the next state to legalzie abortions up to birth after voters approved the dangerous and radical Proposition 3 to would elimiate every single pro-life law in the state, including parental consent.

The 55-45 result in favor of the pro-abortion amendment was not surprising given the millions of dollars leftist billionaires pooured into the state to buy votes with false and misleading television commercials that lied about the effects of the measure. Rich, elite billionaires from New York and the Bahamas flooded the airwaves with ads that confused voters and made the measure seem as if it was just supporting health care for women.

Right to Life of Michigan talked about this in a statement today.

“We are grateful to thousands of tireless volunteers and donors who had the courage to stand up against Prop 3. We were unable to withstand the New York and California mega-donors who dumped millions of dollars into the state, outspending us by what looks to be $20 million,” it said. “We will hold Proposal 3’s sponsors accountable for the misleading promises they made: -That parental rights will be upheld. That late-term abortion would not be permitted. That there will be no tax-funded abortions. That only the 1931 abortion ban will be affected.”

The Catholic News Agency reports billionaires George Soros and Michael Bloomberg, who frequently donate to leftist political causes, have poured millions of dollars into Michigan to pass Proposal 3.

Soros’s Open Society Policy Center donated $4.5 million and Bloomberg, a former New York City mayor, donated $2 million to the campaign for the pro-abortion amendment, according to campaign finance records.

“Out-of-state abortion advocates are trying to buy a constitutional amendment in Michigan that they hope to use as a blueprint across the rest of the country,” Christen Pollo, spokeswoman for the pro-life Citizens to Support Michigan Women and Children, told CNA. “This is not a Michigan effort. This is New York and California pushing an extreme agenda on the people of our state.”

The proposed amendment would legalize the killing of unborn babies in abortions through all nine months of pregnancy and allow anyone, including people without any medical training, to assist with an abortion, according to the pro-life coalition. And while Michigan law requires parents to consent for a 12-year-old to have their tonsils removed, the amendment would make it so parents do not need to consent or even be informed if their 12-year-old daughter has an abortion, or receives transgender drugs or surgery.

Nearly all of the financial support for the amendment has come from outside the state, Pollo continued. Along with Soros and Bloomberg, other outside donors include the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a dark money group that donated $5.2 million; former Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie, who donated $2 million; and Nishad Singh, an executive at the Bahamas-based cryptocurrency company FTX, who donated $4 million, according to campaign finance records.

The billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union also donated large amounts toward the campaign, CNA reports.

State pro-life leaders had been working hard to educate voters about the amendment and refute lies from the pro-abortion side. But some have been targets of violence. In September, an elderly pro-life woman was shot by an angry abortion supporter while campaigning against the amendment in Lake Odessa; she survived. The man is facing several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and careless discharge of a firearm causing injury.

Several churches and pregnancy centers also have been vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti in recent months, and pro-life yard signs have been stolen.

Michigan is a major abortion battleground state. Pro-life Republicans control the state legislature, but Gov. Gretchen Whitmer repeatedly has vetoed life-saving legislation. In July, she even vetoed $21.4 million in funding to support pregnant and parenting mothers who choose life for their babies.

Michigun has a pre-Roe v. Wade law that protects unborn babies by banning abortions, but a judge recently blocked the law at the request of pro-abortion groups.

Nearly 30,000 unborn babies are aborted in Michigan every year.
