Tucker Carlson Slams Democrats on Abortion: They’re a “Child Sacrifice Cult”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed the Democratic Party for its obsession with killing unborn babies in abortions this week, calling it a “child sacrifice cult.”

On his show Monday night, Carlson pointed out how extreme and out of touch Democrat leaders are on the issue, campaigning almost exclusively on legalizing abortion on demand while Americans worry about the rising costs of fuel and food.

“Abortion politics is a total fixation of Democratic donors,” Carlson said, according to the Daily Beast. “It’s the main thing they care about. Why is that, by the way? It’s a religion. It’s a child sacrifice cult.”

He said many Democrats “howled in outrage” for weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.

But the “people who run the Democratic Party weren’t upset at all. They were thrilled. Here, finally was an issue for them to run on in the midterm elections,” Carlson continued, noting President Joe Biden’s poor approval ratings and growing economic problems. “’Abortion! They’re going to take your abortions away!’ That [has been] the Democratic message for the midterm elections.”

Democrats are banking on the abortion issue to win votes in November because their actions on the economy, crime, education and other issues have angered many Americans. According to the AP, they spent an unprecedented amount of money on campaign ads about abortion – more than $31 million between June and August alone.

But their pro-abortion position is very extreme. One of their top priorities for 2023 is to “codify Roe” with a bill that would force states to legalize abortions for basically any reason up to birth and force taxpayers to pay for them. Nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act, the legislation also would end parental consent for minors and jeopardize legal protections for doctors and nurses who refuse to abort unborn babies.

Polling indicates Americans are worried about the economy, crime and other issues, not making abortion on demand legal nationwide, according to Newsweek. One recent poll found only 8 percent of Americans agree with Democratic candidates’ position supporting unlimited abortions, paid for by taxpayers.

Carlson is not the first to describe Democrat leaders’ abortion extremism as a “child sacrifice” cult.

Last year, Catholic Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco said much the same in reference to Democrats’ bill to “codify Roe.” In a message to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a pro-abortion Democrat who claims to be Catholic, Cordileone said the legislation amounts to “child sacrifice” and is what “one would expect from a devout Satanist, not a devout Catholic.”

In September, the Rev. John MacArthur, a prominent evangelical Christian pastor and author, made similar comments in a letter to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, calling a series of pro-abortion billboards that the governor sponsored “diabolical” because they quote Jesus to defend killing unborn babies.

“In mid-September, you revealed to the entire nation how thoroughly rebellious against God you are when you sponsored billboards across America promoting the slaughter of children, whom He creates in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 45:9–12),” MacArthur wrote. “…You used the name and the words of Christ to promote the credo of Molech (Leviticus 20:1–5). It would be hard to imagine a greater sacrilege.”

During Roe, more than 63 million unborn babies were killed in abortions in the U.S. Now, for the first time in 50 years, states may protect unborn babies from abortion again, and more than 20 either ban abortions or are fighting in court to do so.
