Poll Shows Americans Want Lower Inflation, Secure Borders and Less Crime. Joe Biden Wants More Abortions

Another new poll reflects just how out of touch Joe Biden and Democrat leaders are with the American people.

While Americans grow increasingly concerned about inflation, crime and secure borders, Biden and Democrat candidates have been prioritizing abortion on demand leading up to the November election.

According to Newsweek, a new poll from Monmouth University found that Americans want politicians to prioritize inflation (46 percent), secure elections (38 percent), crime (37 percent), immigration (34 percent) and jobs/unemployment (32 percent).

Abortion came in at number six on the list (30 percent), down in Americans’ priorities compared to September polling, the report noted.

Last week, however, Biden said a pro-abortion bill nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act is his top priority in 2023 if Democrats win a few more seats in Congress. Democrat candidates also have been focusing heavily on the abortion issue in ads and speeches leading up to the midterms, decrying how the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and began allowing states to protect unborn babies from abortion again.

Meanwhile, Americans appear to be growing increasingly frustrated with Biden as the costs of fuel, electricity and food skyrocket.

According to the report, “… 63 percent of respondents wish that Biden would pay more attention to these issues, with just 31 percent saying the president has been giving enough attention to the concerns of most American families.”

The poll also found 67 percent said the increasing cost of gasoline has caused them a “great deal of” or “some” financial hardship.

“Inflation has become even more front and center than it already was,” Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, told the news outlet. “Inflation, immigration and crime continue to spur GOP voters, along with an increased concern about elections and voting.”

Democrats are banking on the abortion issue to win votes in November because their actions on the economy, crime, education and other issues have angered many Americans. But this and other polls suggest their strategy may not succeed, and election experts predict Democrats will lose control of the U.S. House and possibly the Senate, too.

Hardly a surprise, poll after poll shows most Americans support strong limits on abortions and oppose taxpayer-funded abortions.

A 2022 Marist poll found that just 36 percent of Americans believe abortions should be legal without any restrictions, the Democratic Party position. Additionally, 73 percent oppose using tax dollars to fund abortions. Similarly, a 2021 Associated Press poll found that 65 percent believe second-trimester abortions should be illegal and 80 percent believe they should be illegal in the third trimester.
