Joe Biden Wants to Force Abortions Up to Birth at Taxpayer Expense on America if Democrats Win

Facing the prospect of his party losing the House (likely) and the Senate (to be determined), pro-abortion President Joe Biden is ratcheting up his rhetoric to offer a full-throated embrace of abortion on demand.

Over the weekend, with the midterm elections just weeks away, Biden attempted to gin up enthusiasm among fellow pro-abortionists by vowing to “codify Roe” as the first order of business in the new Congress. That is, if the Democrats hold the House and add two senators in the upcoming elections. He did not specify what that would look like but obviously Biden was alluding to the radical (and misnamed) Women’s Health Protection Act.

Then there this, coming on the heels of Biden’s “promise,” another promise that would seem to obviously violate not only the spirit but also the letter of the Hyde Amendment.

National Review’s Ari Blaff writes

President Biden revealed in a recent interview that he supports the establishment of a federal fund to cover costs associated with abortion, including time off work, travel, and childcare.

Biden expressed support for the radical idea for the first time during a roundtable panel discussion with NowThis that was recorded on Tuesday and is slated to air over the weekend. The answer was delivered in response to a question from 26-year-old medical student, Danielle Mathisen, who pointed to growing commitments across the corporate world to support women procuring abortions and suggested the federal government should follow suit.

“The answer is absolutely,” Biden said: “I do support that, and I’ve publicly urged companies to do that. I’ve urged them publicly as president of the United States saying, ‘This is what you should be doing,’” Biden says in audio obtained by Axios.

The proposal to create a federal abortion fund seems to run afoul of the Hyde amendment, which prohibits federal funds from being spent on abortion. Biden openly supported the amendment throughout his decades-long career in the Senate, but has since abandoned it, choosing to omit the measure from his 2022 budget proposal.

These are just two of Biden’s aggressive pro-abortion policies. They constitute “a political bet that stressing abortion will drive more suburban women to the polls and save imperiled Democrats,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

But polls show that, while a majority of Americans want abortion to be legal early in pregnancy, they also want more restrictions than the Democratic bill allows.

Every poll also shows that abortion is well down the list of voter priorities — after the economy and inflation. In this week’s Siena/New York Times poll, abortion ranks fourth at 5%, tied with immigration, as the most important voter concern. At least Mr. Biden is telling voters what his party’s priority is, and it isn’t easing the price of gasoline or groceries.
