Planned Parenthood Fired Staffer When She Called Out Its Racism, Now She’s Suing

The billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood is facing more accusations of widespread racism in a new lawsuit from one of its former New York employees.

The Hill reports Nicole Moore, a former director of multicultural brand engagement at Planned Parenthood, filed the lawsuit Wednesday, alleging discriminatory practices against African American employees including herself.

Moore said Planned Parenthood “sabotaged” her work and later fired her after she complained about the racial discrimination. She worked for the abortion group from January 2020 to November 2021, according to the lawsuit.

“The barrage of mistreatment caused Moore to suffer a panic attack so severe that she spent a day in the hospital,” according to the lawsuit. “After complaining to [human resources] that the disciplinary measures appeared to be retaliation for her complaints of racial inequality at the organization, she was summarily fired.”

Here’s more from The Hill:

The complaint states that Moore “was overlooked, overworked, over-scrutinized, tokenized, interrupted, dismissed, belittled, and abused by an openly hostile supervisor about whom many had complained about as racist.”

Moore said that when she complained about the alleged racial disparities, she was sent emails from superiors threatening termination. She was also given an “exorbitant” number of tasks to complete under that threat, she said.

Her lawsuit follows similar racism complaints from hundreds of other employees in recent years. In 2020, about 300 current and former Planned Parenthood employees signed an open letter accusing one of its CEOs and other executives of “systemic racism,” “abusive behavior and financial malfeasance.”

Other pro-abortion groups, including the National Organization for Women and NARAL, also have faced accusations of racism in recent years.

Employees have accused Planned Parenthood of pregnancy discrimination, too. A 2018 New York Times investigation found that, while its leaders reaped in massive salaries, most of its employees did not get paid maternity leave, and some suffered pregnancy discrimination.

One former employee Ta’Lisa Hairston alleged the abortion group did not let her take breaks during her pregnancy, which was recommended because of her high blood pressure, The New York Times reported. Another former hiring manager in California said supervisors discriminated against pregnant job candidates, and pregnant employees at Planned Parenthood did not get promoted.

Planned Parenthood also has fought its employees’ attempts to unionize as they called for better wages and working conditions.

For decades, pro-life advocates have warned that the abortion chain is rooted in discrimination against human beings, born and unborn.

Its founder, Margaret Sanger, was a well-known eugenicist who spoke frequently about how certain groups of human beings were less valuable than others. She described them as “human weeds,” “reckless breeders” and “spawning … human beings who never should have been born” in her book “Pivot of Civilization.”

Sanger also wrote about getting rid of people with diseases and disabilities through sterilization and segregation, describing them as “morons” and “a dead weight of human waste.” Once, she even spoke to the KKK.

Today, Planned Parenthood reports billion-dollar revenues and pays its top employees seven-figure salaries while aborting more unborn babies than any other group in the U.S. Its most recent annual report shows more than 383,000 abortions, or an average 1,050 babies aborted every day. That is a record high.
