New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham performed a cringe-worthy dance on stage Saturday at a pro-abortion rally celebrating her record of supporting abortion on demand.

Elisa Martinez, founder of the New Mexico Alliance for Life, shared a video clip on Twitter that shows the Democrat governor and other abortion activists dancing at the outdoor event in Las Cruces.

“What did I just watch? Oh – New Mexico’s Abortion Governor hopping around about killing innocent babies up to birth,” Martinez wrote.

According to the Las Cruces Sun News, Grisham, who is up for re-election, was joined by two leading abortion activists: Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson and NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju. Both appear to be dancing on stage with the governor.

Gabe Vasquez, a pro-abortion Democrat candidate for the U.S. House, also can be seen dancing with Grisham and the abortion activists.

Others who participated in the rally included Las Cruces City Councilor Yvonne Flores, City Councilor Johanna Bencomo and Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, according to the local news. It is not clear from the video clip if they also participated in the spectacle on stage.

But the point of the rally – and the dance – was clear. They were there to support killing unborn babies in abortions and elect candidates who will vote to keep the life-destroying practice legal. In New Mexico, abortions are legal through all nine months of pregnancy, and the state is home to one of the few openly practicing late-term abortion facilities in the U.S.

In 2021, Grisham signed a law repealing a 1969 statute that prohibited abortions except in cases of rape, incest or threats to the mother’s life. The statute was not in effect at the time because of Roe v. Wade, and repealing it ensured that abortion on demand remains legal in the state.

Then, in August in response to the overturning of Roe, Grisham, who claims to be Catholic, announced plans to spend $10 million taxpayer dollars to build a new abortion facility near the Texas border.

Her latest promotion of abortion Saturday drew comments of outrage and disgust online.

“If they pulled an insect’s legs off the way these people want to remove a baby’s legs in the safety of its mama’s body, we would worry about their mental health. But evil people dance to celebrate the death of babies and call it healthcare & a gubernatorial platform,” one woman responded to the video on Twitter.

Others described her pro-abortion dance as “sick,” “deranged” and “bizarre.”

“Do they know what an abortion is? Like really? Why would ANYONE either for or against it be dancing and laughing joyfully when discussing this topic? Seriously! Has anyone any discretion anymore?” another woman responded.

“The Governor celebrating and dancing at an abortion rally. Anyone ever see a Governor celebrate killing babies up to birth?” Sandoval County Commissioner Jay Block wrote on Twitter.

Grisham is running for re-election against Republican Mark Ronchetti in November.
