Joe Biden invoked God’s name Sunday in a bizarre tweet promoting Democrats’ plans to expand the killing of unborn babies in abortions.
The president mentioned both “the Almighty” and “the alternative,” presumably Satan, in the message, but the wording was confusing.
“My dad used to say, ‘Joey, don’t compare me to the Almighty. Compare me to the alternative,’” Biden wrote. “And here’s the deal: Democrats want to codify Roe. Republicans want a national ban on abortion. The choice is clear.”
Many took that to mean that Biden was comparing himself and other pro-abortion Democrats to Satan. Indeed, most religious pro-lifers link pro-abortion advocacy to following Satan. The Satanic Temple has been involved in abortion advocacy for many years, and abortion activists chanted “Hail Satan!” in 2013 in the Texas Capitol as the state legislature debated pro-life legislation.
In recent months, the phrase “fight like hell” for abortion has become a common talking point among pro-abortion Democrats, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Responding to Biden this week, Daily Caller news editor Grayson Quay said, “The Almighty will have plenty to say about your willingness to facilitate the industrial-scale slaughter of the unborn to cement your own political power.”
Catholic Bishop Donald Hying, of the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, told Biden that protecting human life from abortion is the clear choice.
“As you say, Mr. President, the choice is clear. The choice between life and death for millions of unborn lives. Shouldn’t the government be seeking to nurture and protect human life?” Hying wrote on Twitter.
Others pointed out that Biden’s and Democrat leaders’ plan to “codify Roe” actually would go further than the 1973 ruling that led to the deaths of 63 million unborn babies.
“Republicans want a ban after 15 weeks (3 and a half months) of pregnancy, with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. Democrats want taxpayer-funded abortions for any reason up to the day of delivery, with no conscience protections for providers who object,” said Phil Kerpen, president of the Committee to Unleash Prosperity.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton added: “Fact check: Left wants to do more than ‘codify Roe.’ It wants to push the killing of unborn human beings WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTIONS through the entire nine months of pregnancy, with tax dollars. To start.”
To “codify Roe,” Democrats want to pass a bill nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act that would force states to legalize abortions for basically any reason up to birth, end bans on sex-selection and taxpayer-funded abortions, get rid of laws requiring parental consent and informed consent, and jeopardize religious freedom for pro-life doctors and nurses.
Polls consistently show a strong majority of Americans oppose such extreme measures.
Although Biden professes to be a devout Catholic, he supports abortion on demand and wants to force taxpayers to pay for it. The Biden administration has been working aggressively to expand the killing of unborn babies in elective abortions across the U.S. On Tuesday, it announced even more actions, including $6 million in new funding for “family planning services,” the AP reports.
