Here’s What Pro-Life Voters Must Do Today to Win the Elections

With the midterm elections only a few weeks away, and arguably the most important midterm elections so far in our history, I would like to invite you to go through this brief checklist of activities that can help you make a difference in the outcome, and influence others to do the same.

The reason, of course, that I and others emphasize the importance of these midterm elections is that by taking back the House and the Senate into pro-life, Republican hands, we are able to put a roadblock in the way of the extreme and destructive agenda the Democrats have imposed upon America in the last two years. The harm has been incalculable, and can often only be explained by concluding that some in positions of power right now are motivated by a desire to weaken and destroy America.

We will not let that happen. And so, the checklist.

First, check the accuracy of your voter registration. By going to www.CheckYourVoterRegistration.com, you’ll be able to enter your name and address and see what your state has on its voter files for you. Then you’ll be able to update your information so that when you go to vote, there are no surprises or snags. Don’t take anything for granted. Stay ahead of any data errors in the voter files.

Second, mark your calendar. Voter registration deadlines are fast approaching. You should know the deadline in your state and let others know. Early voting is already underway in some states. You should know if and when it begins in your state. You may prefer, as do I, to vote on Election Day. Yet at the same time, we can use the early voting period to remind others to vote and help them do so.  And, of course, the general election, Tuesday, November 8th, should be marked prominently on your calendar.

To find the relevant dates for each state, go to www.StateElectionCalendar.org.

Third, get your voter guides. One of the best resources in this regard is www.iVoterGuide.com. The team there collects a lot of information on federal, state, and local races. Be sure to download a copy of your ballot itself and study it well before going into the voting booth. You don’t want voting to be a guessing game. In some states, like Michigan, there are ballot initiatives and amendments that voters need to pay attention to. (The Michigan one is pro-abortion and needs a “NO” vote.) Another source for looking at your ballot in advance is www.Ballotpedia.com.

Fourth, expose the extremism of the other side. As I pointed out recently on Newsmax, voters need to understand that the choice in this election is not between “banning all abortion” and allowing it. The choice is between providing more protections for the unborn, versus removing any protections they already have and allowing abortion until birth. That’s the Democrat position, and they’ve proved it by their passage, in the House, of the “Women’s Health Protection Act.” Challenge the Democrat candidates to identify a single abortion that they would prohibit.

And fifth, join hands with good allies. Volunteer for and contribute to pro-life candidates and campaigns. Connect with your local Republican party. Take advantage of voter trainings and election-related volunteer activities that pro-life groups provide. Together, we can educate and inspire one another and win many victories.

These five steps can bring us closer to victory in this election. Remember, it’s not complicated, but it requires that we pay attention and stay active. I am confident that we will win back the House and the Senate, and that as New Gingrich has said, November’s “Red Wave” will be an “American Wave,” inasmuch as so many Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike want an America that works. Democrat “leaders” have made it dysfunctional, to say the least. It’s time to take our country back.
