Kamala Harris Claims It’s OK for Christians to Support Killing Babies in Abortions

Kamala Harris claimed Christians can support killing unborn babies in abortions last week when she met with pro-abortion politicians in Chicago.

The Democrat leader has been meeting with abortion activists all across the country in recent months as the Biden administration works to thwart pro-life efforts to save unborn babies from abortion now that the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade.

The Center Square reports Harris, Gov. J.B. Pritzker and other lawmakers joined student abortion activists and abortion workers last week for a discussion about the issue.

The vice president praised Illinois for its pro-abortion laws before claiming that any religious person can support abortion, according to the report.

“It bares noting, one does not have to give up their faith or religious beliefs to agree that the government should not be making that decision for her,” Harris said.

She praised Pritzker for trying to make Illinois a “haven” for abortion as most of its neighboring states work to ban the life-destroying practice.

“We look at states like Illinois for what they have been and continued to do to provide for women in this state,” Harris said. “As the governor has said, he hopes to be a haven for neighboring states as well.”

Christianity recognizes the value of every human life from the moment of conception and condemns the killing of innocent human beings, but Harris has been bringing up “faith” frequently in her speeches supporting abortion on demand.

Last week, she even mentioned abortion during a speech to the National Baptist Convention in Houston, Texas, which about 2,000 pastors and church leaders attended, The Houston Chronicle reports.

In June, Harris also met a small group of Christian, Jewish and Islamic leaders to discuss ways to “protect reproductive rights” in anticipation that the Supreme Court would overturn Roe.

“You all … have done extraordinary work, in particular of these last few years, to remind folks that they are not alone, that we are in this together, that there is a higher purpose, and that we should be guided by all that we know — that that gives us a chance of shining a light in the midst of dark moments and dark days,” she said at the meeting.

Most Christians, however, believe that the end of Roe is bringing about a better future for America.

The 1973 ruling forced states to legalize abortion on demand, leading to the deaths of more than 63 million unborn babies and hundreds of mothers. Now, states may protect unborn babies from abortion again, and 16 already have done so. As a result, tens of thousands of babies are being saved from violent abortion deaths.

And it is primarily Christians who are providing support and encouragement to pregnant and parenting mothers in need – although pro-lifers of other faiths and no faith are doing this, too. Through pregnancy centers, maternity homes and other charities, Christians across the U.S. are providing baby supplies, housing, financial assistance, parenting classes and more to help millions of mothers and babies thrive.

The Biden administration’s position on abortion is radical and out of touch with most Americans. Polls consistently show that a strong majority of Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortions and support strong limits on abortion, especially after the first trimester. LifeNews highlighted 14 recent polls here.
