A new investigation by the Washington Free Beacon exposed connections this week between an Arizona Democrat candidate for district attorney and unethical and potentially illegal abortion practices in the state.

Julie Gunnigle, who is running for Maricopa County district attorney, has the support of billionaire George Soros and many abortion groups. A pro-abortion Democrat, she said she will not prosecute abortionists who violate the 15-week abortion ban in Arizona, if elected.

One of her supporters, Camelback Family Planning in Phoenix, already has been accused of illegal activity. The facility allegedly sold aborted babies’ organs, told a woman how to get a sex-selection abortion and lies to patients.

A second abortion facility that endorsed Gunnigle, Desert Star Family Planning in Phoenix, also was caught in an undercover investigation by the Center for Medical Progress that exposed the trafficking of aborted baby body parts, according to the report.

The Camelback abortion facility hosted a campaign event with Gunningle in 2020 and recently endorsed her for office. Gunningle also has helped with fundraisers for the Desert Star abortion facility within the past year, the Beacon reports.

However, several years ago, Camelback was caught harvesting the livers and thymuses from aborted babies and allegedly selling them for $1,200 to StemExpress between 2010 and 2015, a 2016 U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee investigation found.

The abortion facility also deceives patients about their unborn baby’s development. In an August interview with the Los Angeles Times, a nurse at Camelback said she tells pregnant mothers that their unborn babies are just “pieces of goo” – even though the facility aborts unborn babies up to 24 weeks and premature babies have survived as early as 21 weeks of pregnancy.

Desert Star Family Planning similarly has been exposed for unethical actions. According to the Beacon, “[Its] founder and president was caught on camera in 2014 discussing fetal organ harvesting and joking that she has to ‘hit the gym’ so her ‘biceps’ could carry out abortions of fetuses older than 20 weeks.”

In 2020, the abortion facility also took $43,117 in COVID-19 relief funds meant for struggling small businesses, according to Secular Pro-Life.

Across the country, pro-abortion Democrat district attorneys and attorneys general are refusing to enforce the laws that they swore to uphold because of their pro-abortion political stance.

This week, Indiana became the 16th state to protect unborn babies by enforcing a new abortion ban. According to SBA Pro-Life America, these laws are saving approximately 134,800 unborn babies from abortion
