Elizabeth Warren Wants to Shut Down Pregnancy Centers. That Proves She’s Pro-Abortion Not Pro-Choice

Elizabeth Warren’s aggressive attacks against pro-life pregnancy resource centers demonstrate how the Democrat leader is pro-abortion, not pro-choice.

Pregnancy centers are nonprofit organizations that offer women alternatives to abortion, providing free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, diapers and cribs, parenting classes, help finding financial aid, medical care and more. Many also offer post-abortion counseling and other support services.

Increasingly, however, these centers have come under attack for their life-affirming work. The abortion industry and its political allies accuse them of deceiving and tricking women into keeping their babies without evidence, and pro-abortion radicals have vandalized dozens of pregnancy centers since May.

In an interview with local news station WCVB 5, Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, claimed pregnancy centers deceive women by making them think their organization is an abortion facility. Then, once the woman visits the pregnancy center, they talk her out of an abortion – a “bate and switch,” Warren claimed.

“These so-called crisis pregnancy centers outnumber genuine abortion clinics by three to one,” she said. “They are giving it over to people who wish them harm, and that has to stop. We need to put a stop to that in Massachusetts right now.”

Warren recently introduced a federal bill, the “Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation Act,” that could shut down pregnancy centers for what the senator calls “false advertising,” according to the Boston Herald. She also claimed pregnancy centers “prey” on vulnerable pregnant women who are seeking help.

It actually is the abortion industry that deceives and prey on vulnerable mothers and babies – and pro-abortion groups donate huge amounts of money to Warren’s political campaigns. In turn, she and other Democrat leaders vote to give hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to abortion groups like Planned Parenthood.

Andrew Brennan, director of faith communications for the Republican National Committee, said Warren’s attack on pregnancy centers shows just how radical she is.

“Crisis pregnancy centers do incredible work to serve vulnerable mothers, and yet Democrats have called for and refused to condemn violent attacks against them,” Brennan told LifeNews. “For Elizabeth Warren to now call for these pro-life centers to be shut down just goes to show how truly radical Democrats’ abortion agenda is.”

Pro-life pregnancy resource centers operate on small budgets. Some receive taxpayer funding, primarily supported by Republican lawmakers, and others operate solely on donations. Their mission simply is to help mothers choose life for their unborn babies and they do it by providing free and compassionate support services to millions of families every year.

In the U.S., there are an estimated 3,000 pro-life pregnancy resource centers alone, not including other charities that also help mothers and babies in need. Research by the Charlotte Lozier Institute found these centers served about 2 million people in 2019, providing more than 730,000 pregnancy tests, nearly half a million ultrasounds, 1.3 million packs of diapers and more than 2 million baby outfits, all for free.

Their services typically include counseling and pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting classes, maternity and baby clothes, diapers and car seats. Some also offer medical services including well-women exams and STD testing and treatment. Many offer post-abortion counseling as well.

Pro-life advocates also run maternity homes, medical facilities, scholarship programs, counseling services and much more. These programs give families hope, encouragement and the chance to overcome their struggles while becoming the mothers and fathers that their unborn babies need them to be.
