The abortion activist who threatened to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh has pleaded not guilty. Nicholas Roske, 26, faces life in prison if convicted of attempting to assassinate a justice of the United States.
A jury trial in the case is set to begin August 23.
Roske appeared in the U.S. District Court in Greenbelt Wednesday wearing a burgundy-color jail uniform. At times, he locked his hands behind his neck and kept his head hung low.
Roske has chosen to remain in custody while awaiting a jury trial, which is currently scheduled to begin on Aug. 23. He has the right, however, to request a detention hearing should he change his mind before then.
The Office of the Federal Public Defender is representing Roske and had two lawyers in court on Roske’s behalf Wednesday. An assistant U.S. attorney was joined by an FBI agent on behalf of the prosecution.
Roske told the court the jail is providing him with his required medication. He did not specify what medicine he is currently taking.

Roske, the California man who was arrested at Kavanaugh’s home with a weapon and backpack full of tools, has been indicted on charges of attempting ”to assassinate a Supreme Court Justice of the United States.” Roske told officials he was upset about the draft of the Supreme Court opinion to potentially overturn Roe v. Wade.
Federal officials found a Glock handgun, 37 rounds of ammunition, a ”black speed loader,” hard-knuckled gloves, pepper spray, a knife, lock-picking tools and a black mask among his possessions.
The indictment came on the same day radical abortion activists released a statement promoting more violence. After months of attacking pro-life centers nationwide, a militant group promises violence against these centers.
The threat comes from an open letter by the pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge. Now more pro-life centers will be the targets of their vicious attacks reported by the Post Millennial.
Jane’s Revenge declared its “30 days of patience and mercy” is now over, and it will begin targeting pro-life groups. “Your thirty days expired yesterday,” the letter read on June 15. “We offered an honorable way out. You could have walked away. Now the leash is off. And we will make it as hard as possible for your campaign of oppression to continue.”
The terrorists are planning to escalate. “We promised to take increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures,” the letter continues. “Rest assured that we will, and those measures may not come in the form of something so easily cleaned up as fire and graffiti. Sometimes you will see what we do, and you will know that it is us.”
One of the popular slogans graffitied is “if abortions aren’t safe, neither are you.” Jane’s Revenge threatens the pro-life groups akin to a mafia boss stating, “From here forward, any anti-choice group who closes their doors and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are.”
Not only does Jane’s Revenge threaten, but they encourage their cronies to cause chaos in the street. “You are already one of us. Everyone with the urge to paint, to burn, to cut, to jam: now is the time,” the letter concludes. “Go forth and manifest the things you wish to see. Stay safe, and practice your cursive.” A direct call to action to antagonize innocent pro-lifers and destry property. Will this group face the consequences of its threats? Probably not.
Pro-life centers have been the victim of attacks across the nation. The group has taken responsibility for attacks on pregnancy and pro-life centers in Madison, WI, Ft. Collins, CO, Reisertown, MA, Olympia, WA, Des Moines, IA, Lynwood, WA, Washington DC, Ashville, NC, Buffalo, NY, Hollywood FL, Vancouver WA, Frederick MD, Denton TX, Gresham OR, Eugene OR, Portland OR. As time goes on, these attacks are only going to worsen.
This militant group shows how desperate the left is to enshrine its favorite political belief. It’s crucial to defend the pregnancy centers from these barbarians and ensure justice is delivered.
