Senator John Kennedy Blasts Liberals for Allowing Protests at Supreme Court Justices’ Homes

Sen. John Kennedy criticized the Biden administration Monday for doing nothing to stop radical leftists from intimidating U.S. Supreme Court justices on the abortion issue.

Despite an assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh and numerous acts of intimidation at the justices’ homes and online, the Biden administration has allowed it to continue, the Louisiana Republican told “America’s Newsroom” on Fox News.

“This is more than just about abortion. It’s about respect for American institutions,” Kennedy said. “I think most people can say that all of this is being driven by the anti-intellectual, crypto-socialist woke left that the Biden administration has embraced and frankly, that is in charge of in Washington, D.C.”

Kennedy said the “woke” left began intimidation tactics immediately after Politico reported about a leaked draft ruling showing the high court overturning Roe v. Wade this summer.

A few days after the leak, the pro-abortion group Ruth Sent Us published the home addresses of the justices who, in the draft, agree to overturn Roe. Now, there are regular protests outside the justices’ homes – and two of the justices’ young children were targeted in posts online. Dozens of pro-life organizations and churches also have been victims of arson, vandalism and threats in recent weeks.

Kennedy criticized Democrat leaders for refusing to condemn the on-going intimidation attempts.

“They said, ‘We don’t agree with it, so let’s burn the place down, let’s intimidate the justices, let’s intimidate their spouses, let’s intimidate their kids, let’s publish their telephone numbers and addresses on the internet and, while we’re at it, let’s pack the court and abolish the filibuster,’” Kennedy said.

“What you allow is what will continue, and the Biden administration has embraced that. I don’t think the Biden administration and most of my Democratic colleagues have pushed back at all,” he added.

While Garland and the Biden administration have condemned the violence, they have not spoken out against the protests outside the justices’ homes. Federal law prohibits protests outside the homes of judges, witnesses, jurors and court officials; such actions are considered intimidation and interference in the judicial system.

According to the Daily Wire, Biden did sign a bill Thursday to increase security for the justices and their families. The FBI also launched an investigation into the pro-abortion violence last week.

But more violence is expected in the days ahead, especially after the Supreme Court releases its final ruling on the Mississippi abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

According to Axios, a recent report from the Department of Homeland Security warned that radical abortion activists may burn down or storm the Supreme Court building and murder justices and their law clerks if the court overturns Roe. The report indicates these pro-abortion extremists also plan to target churches and other places of worship.

LifeNews has kept track of the growing hostility, listing approximately 60 incidents since the leak. Find the list here.

The Supreme Court is expected to release its final ruling on the Dobbs case later this month.
