Leftists Target Pro-Life Congressional Candidate With Vandalism: “F— Charity Barry”

Wisconsin pro-life Congressional candidate Charity Barry was another target of vandalism Tuesday as concerns mount about violence directed at people who want to protect unborn babies from abortion.

The incident is the second vandalism against a pro-life politician this week. The office of a Republican state representative in Washington state also was vandalized and attempted to be set on fire early Monday.

The Monroe Times reports local police are investigating the graffiti against Barry that was spray-painted on Vince’s Pizza and an adjacent Dollar General in Monroe, Wisconsin. Barry was supposed to appear at an event at the restaurant Wednesday.

Barry is a Republican primary candidate for the Wisconsin 2nd Congressional District. U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan, a pro-abortion Democrat, currently holds the seat.

Photos of the graffiti, which Barry’s campaign posted online, show the words “F— Charity Barry” and other profanity coupled with the candidate’s name spray-painted on the walls of the two businesses.

Barry told LifeNews that they do not know if her pro-life stance was a reason why she was targeted, but she will not be intimidated.

“I will say that this will not deter our efforts to bring the truth to the people of the 2nd Congressional District in Wisconsin,” she said. “For too long, the left has bullied our side into silence. I am not so easily silenced. I am proud to stand for life. I am proud to stand for our Constitution. I am proud to stand for our 2nd Amendment rights. I will not be bullied into silence.”

Her campaign also called on Pocan to condemn the vandalism.

Here’s more from The Monroe Times:

Police Chief Fred Kelly said police are investigating, adding that the incident is obviously something beyond the usual vandalism or gang-inspired graffiti they might encounter and likely happened overnight Tuesday.

“How this all fits together, we still don’t know,” said Kelly. “This seems to be some kind of message.”

Although it is not clear if Barry was targeted because of her pro-life stance, it appears suspicious given the spate of arsons, vandalisms, threats and harassment targeting pro-lifers in recent weeks.

The leaked U.S. Supreme Court abortion ruling has pro-abortion militants in full force, attacking pro-life organizations and churches nationwide.

This week, a militant group, Jane’s Revenge, promised more violence in the days ahead, according to the Post Millennial. Jane’s Revenge declared its “30 days of patience and mercy” is over, and it will begin targeting more pro-life groups.

“Your thirty days expired yesterday,” a letter dated June 15 from the group states. “We offered an honorable way out. You could have walked away. Now the leash is off. And we will make it as hard as possible for your campaign of oppression to continue.”

“We promised to take increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures,” the letter continues. “Rest assured that we will, and those measures may not come in the form of something so easily cleaned up as fire and graffiti. Sometimes you will see what we do, and you will know that it is us.”

Five pro-life offices have been targets of arson since the leak in May, and dozens of pro-life organizations and churches have been vandalized.

Last week, an alleged assassin with a gun was arrested outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after he said he planned to kill the justice, according to police. Kavanaugh is expected to be one of the justices who agrees to overturn Roe, but the court has not released its ruling on the abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health yet.
