Pro-Abortion “Christian” Runs Group Funding Abortions, Says Killing Babies is Serving Her “Neighbors”

A small but vocal group of pastors are trying to lead women astray by claiming that Christianity is ok with killing unborn babies in abortions.

Several spoke with Business Insider this month about why they believe helping women get abortions is part of their ministry. One described abortion work as “serving their neighbors,” another called it “central to our faith” – contradicting what Christianity teaches about the value of human life, according to Breitbart.

Elaina Ramsey runs Faith Choice Ohio, which raises money to pay the travel expenses for mothers to abort their unborn babies. Ramsey told Business Insider that pro-life Christians are really just “religious zealots” and they do not “speak for me as a Christian.”

She described her abortion work as serving her “neighbors,” a reference to a parable Jesus told in the Bible about loving people in difficult circumstances, including enemies.

“This is a deep part of the moral commitment that faith traditions have to serve their neighbors and show up in times of crisis and beyond,” Ramsey said.

Another supposed Christian pro-abortion leader, Katie Zeh, spoke with pride about how her group, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, helped facilitate the killing of half a million unborn babies in abortions in the six years prior to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade in 1973, according to the report.

Zeh, a pastor, said a key focus of Christianity is caring for people, and she does this by helping women get abortions.

“It’s so central to our faith to care for people, so it’s no surprise that clergy were part of the group helping people get abortion care,” Zeh told Business Insider.

She also slammed pro-life Christians as racists, claiming they “weaponize” the faith for their cause.

“It’s just that there’s a very vocal group of what we call white Christian nationalists that have made this the central issue of their political platform and they have used and weaponized Christianity, in particular, to make it seem like this is just an obvious thing, that if you are a Christian then you must be anti-abortion,” Zeh said.

But Christianity is anti-abortion and pro-life. An abortion kills a unique, living human being who, Christianity teaches, is a valuable person created in the image of God. The Bible condemns murder, the harming of children and the shedding of innocent blood, and it recognizes unborn babies as valuable human beings.

Yet, in the name of religion, some Christian leaders are perverting the truth and leading people astray. In doing so, they are jeopardizing the futures of countless children in society.

True Christianity raises up the most vulnerable, defends the defenseless and offers compassion to the suffering. This is what pro-life advocates, secular and religious, do every day for mothers and babies across the world through pregnancy resource centers, maternity homes, adoption agencies and many other charities.
