Pro-Lifers Should Never Drink Another Starbucks Coffee Again Because It Now Pays for Employee Abortions

Starbucks just joined a growing list of companies that promise to give their female employees money to abort their unborn babies.

On Monday, the coffee company said it will begin paying travel costs for pregnant employees if they have to travel at least 100 miles for an abortion, UPI reports. The new “benefit” applies to employees and dependents covered by the company’s health insurance plan, according to the report.

“Regardless of what the Supreme Court ends up deciding, we will always ensure our partners have access to quality health care,” Starbucks spokesperson Sara Kelly told employees, according to the AP.

The announcement was not a surprise to pro-life advocates, many of whom have been boycotting the Seattle-based company for years because of its contributions to the Planned Parenthood abortion chain.

Starbucks joins Amazon, Citigroup, Apple, Yelp, Levi Strauss and other companies that are giving their pregnant employees money for abortions in response to state pro-life laws. MarketWatch reports DoorDash and Tesla recently announced similar plans.

Two states, Oklahoma and Texas, already are enforcing heartbeat laws that ban most abortions, and more state are expected to follow if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade this summer.

Polls consistently show that most Americans support stronger legal protections for unborn babies than what Roe allows. LifeNews highlighted 11 recent polls here. A new Rasmussen poll found more Americans want Roe v. Wade overturned (48 percent) than want the ruling to remain in place (45 percent).

Since 1973, more than 63 million unborn babies and hundreds of mothers have died in supposedly “safe, legal” abortions.

Yet, some companies want more abortions. Recently, Uber, GoDaddy, Match and Tinder, Stitch Fix, Patagonia and Seventh Generation have criticized Texas for working to save unborn babies from abortion. The software company Salesforce even offered to help employees move out of Texas because of its 2021 pro-life law.

These companies are not helping women by offering incentives to abort their unborn babies. Women already face intense pressure to have abortions, sometimes from partners and other times from their employers.

What they and their babies need is real support, and pro-life advocates are striving to provide it. Along with passing the heartbeat law last year, Texas state lawmakers also increased support for pregnant and parenting mothers and babiesensuring that they have resources to choose life for their babies. Other pro-life advocates across the U.S. also are working to expand support services for families in need, through pregnancy centers, maternity homes, and even programs for pregnant and parenting mothers in prison.
