A Catholic man attending Mass Sunday in Los Angeles jumped over a pew to help security remove abortion activists who were disrupting the service, The Blaze reports.
Videos posted online by church-goers at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels show the man and several security guards responding to a small group of abortion activists who had marched to the front of the church, according to the report.
The interruption appears to have been in response to calls from two pro-abortion groups to protest at churches after a leaked draft opinion suggests the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade.
Videos show a small group of abortion activists, some dressed in red robes and white hats from the dystopian novel “The Handmaid’s Tale,” standing near the front of the cathedral as a large group of Catholics were worshiping.

Parishioner Bradford Adkins told the Catholic News Agency that the abortion activists interrupted the 10 a.m. Mass right before communion, walking to the front of the cathedral and yelling near the altar.

Others stepped in to help, and the demonstrators were escorted from the church.
Last week, the pro-abortion group Ruth Sent Us called for protests at Catholic churches on Mother’s Day.
“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice’, ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the group wrote on Twitter, along with a video of abortion activists appearing to disrupt a Catholic Mass. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8.”
Another pro-abortion group, Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, also encouraged pro-abortion protests “outside of churches” on Mother’s Day.
“Raise your voice and raise hell! Silence is your stamp of approval,” the group’s website states. “Abortion on demand and without apology!”
Last week, a Catholic church in Boulder, Colorado was vandalized. Several pro-life pregnancy centers also have been vandalized within the past several days, and police say a Wisconsin pro-life organization was lit on fire and vandalized over the weekend.
CBS News reported at least two police officers were injured when a pro-abortion rally turned violent in Los Angeles. During another protest in Washington, D.C., a Daily Wire reporter witnessed abortion activists shoving, spitting on and screaming obscenities at a small group of pro-life advocates who were counter-protesting.
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas condemned the bullying at a 11th Circuit judicial conference Friday in Atlanta, Georgia. As a society, “we are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don’t like,” Thomas said.
“We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want. The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that,” Thomas continued, according to reports.
Abortion activists are trying to intimidate Supreme Court justices to change their mind and uphold Roe after the leaked draft opinion showed the majority voting to overturn the infamous 1973 ruling. The draft is not final, judges can change their minds, and it is not clear when the high court will issue its final ruling on the abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, but many believe the court will overturn Roe and allow states to protect unborn babies again.

On Monday, Rasmussen published a poll showing more Americans want Roe v. Wade overturned (48 percent) than want the ruling to remain in place (45 percent).
Since 1973, more than 63 million unborn babies and hundreds of mothers have died in supposedly “safe, legal” abortions.
