The Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder, Colorado was vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti again Tuesday, the second time in less than a year.

Abortion activists targeted the church after news broke of a leaked draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court that overturns Roe v. Wade. Pro-life pregnancy centers and pro-life advocates also have been the targets of vandalism, violence and harassment this week.

Catholic News Agency reports vandals covered the Sacred Heart of Mary building, doors and a church vehicle with pro-abortion slogans spray-painted in blue and red. They also smashed at least one window, and several statues were covered with paint.

Here’s more from the report:

Photos shared with CNA by the Archdiocese of Denver show vulgar slogans spray painted on the church, such as “F— You,” “F the Church, F— the State,” as well as numerous inscriptions of “My Body My Choice,” “You don’t speak 4 God,” and a symbol that appears to be an “A” signifying “anarchy.”

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, according to the Denver Gazette.

“The investigation is ongoing, but we can say that we are looking at all evidence, including surveillance footage,” sheriff spokesperson Carrie Haverfield said.

The same church also was vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti in September, likely in response to the courts allowing the Texas heartbeat law to go into effect. At least two other Catholic churches in Colorado were vandalized around the same time, the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver and the St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.

Last fall, the Archdiocese of Denver released a statement condemning the spate of vandalism against Catholic churches in recent months. At least 25 crimes of vandalism, property destruction or theft were reported at parishes and ministries in the archdiocese since February 2020, including more than 10 in the past six months, the diocese said.

“We continue to pray for the conversion of those who carry out acts of desecration against our churches, statues and religious symbols,” the diocese said at the time.

According to Live Action News, some radical abortion activists are openly advocating online for pro-life pregnancy centers and churches to be targeted in response to the leaked Supreme Court draft ruling. At least two pregnancy centers also were vandalized this week, and pro-life leaders have told LifeNews about being punched, harassed and followed by radical abortion activists at protests.

CBS News reported at least two police officers were injured when a pro-abortion rally turned violent in Los Angeles earlier this week. During another protest in Washington, D.C., a Daily Wire reporter witnessed abortion activists shoving, spitting on and screaming obscenities at a small group of pro-life advocates who were counter-protesting.

Along with the violence of abortion against unborn babies, threats and violence against pro-life advocates also have increased in recent years. LifeNews.com has documented reports of hundreds of incidents in recent years, including bomb threats, assaults, death threats, arson and vandalism.

And violence by abortion activists likely will continue as the U.S. Supreme Court gets ready to issue its final ruling on the Mississippi abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health this summer. If the court overturns Roe, the Guttmacher Institute predicts that 26 states would ban abortions.
