Pro-Abortion Extremists Will Spend $150 Million Trying to Keep Control of Congress

The polls show Americans are ready for a change in Congress and a red wave may be coming this November that could sweep pro-life Republicans back into leadership in the House of Senate. But radical pro-abortion extremists are spending heavily to counter that conservative backlash against Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and leftist Democrats.

A trio of pro-abortion rights groups are banding together to spend $150 million during the 2022 midterms.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL and Emily’s List plan to fund millions in television and online ads and get out of vote campaigns in battleground states. Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, California, Kansas and Wisconsin are the top targets.

Here’s more:

Of the nine states, six are home to competitive Senate races, and all are electing governors in November.

But Democrats are increasingly worried that voters who support abortion rights, especially the suburban women who were key to their victories in 2018 and 2020, are not motivated to turn out in November.

“Let this be a warning to the out-of-touch politicians standing in the way of our reproductive freedom: People are watching. People are furious. And this November, the people will vote you out,” Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said in a statement shared with POLITICO.

In response, pro-life leader Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List said the victory in Virginia where pro-life Governor Glenn Youngkin beat an abortion activist in a battleground state was an indicator that the 2022 election is trending in the pro-life direction.

“The abortion lobby led by Planned Parenthood is shamefully spending nine figures to elect Democrats who back late-term abortion on demand, paid for by taxpayers, until the moment of birth. Make no mistake, they are desperate to preserve their lucrative business of killing unborn children and exploiting their mothers,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The American people have overwhelmingly rejected this radical agenda, including in the Virginia governor’s race last November, yet pro-abortion Democrats are doubling down on the failed strategy of extremists like Terry McAuliffe. They do so at their own political peril. Our ground team has already visited more than 1,345,000 voters at their homes in six battleground states to expose the extremism of pro-abortion candidates and educate about the millions of lives at stake in the Dobbs case and midterm elections. We will never stop working to counter pro-abortion lies and save lives.”

Public opinion polls consistently show that the strong majority of Americans reject abortion extremism.
