On Monday night, Vice President Kamala Harris and husband Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff headlined a fundraiser in the private Brentwood home of Walt Disney Television’s Chairman of Entertainment Dana Walden and producer husband Matt Walden.

The evening raised $1 million dollars for the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund, with money going to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and state party committees.

Harris’ trip to Los Angeles to raise cash for the Democrats reflected “the gradual return to normalcy of the Hollywood ATM,” in the words of Deadline Magazine.

Vacuuming up money from Hollywood elites appears to be the one role in which Harris does not publicly humiliate herself.

Tickets for the fundraiser were between $50,000 and $100,000. The bash was attended by thirty people, including Star Wars movie franchise wrecker J.J. Abrams, Glee producer Ryan Murphy and Marvel Comics Black Panther writer Reggie Hudlin.

Host Dana Walden made headlines last year for admitting during a Women in Focus panel discussion that she rejected “incredibly well-written scripts” for failing to meet “inclusion” standards. During the panel discussion, she proudly stated that she passed on one script merely because it was about a white family.

Walden has been a Harris donor and supporter for decades going all the way back to when Harris first ran for San Francisco district attorney in 2003.

“According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Democratic candidates and committees have collected $22.7 million from movies, TV and music donors so far this cycle, compared to just $2.7 million to Republicans. That’s an 89%-11% split,” Deadline reported.

The Walt Disney Corporation has numerous executives with close ties to the current White House, including a former Biden administration official who was recently hired as the company’s head of global communications.

Last month, Disney attacked Florida’s anti-grooming legislation, the Parental Rights in Education Bill. Leaked video of a private meeting of Disney employees exposed the company’s desire to insert sexually inappropriate content into children’s entertainment.

The company has a decades-long history of hiring groomers and pedophiles among its creative staff. Disney notoriously hired convicted child molester Brian Peck, who had abused a Nickelodeon child star, to write the popular series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Yay, Me! back in the early aughts. Former Zack and Cody star Cole Sprouse recently spoke out about how his female co-stars were “heavily sexualized” at an early age while working for the Disney Channel.

More recently in 2018, Disney rehired Guardians of the Galaxy writer-director James Gunn despite unearthed tweets of Gunn joking about raping children and photos of him attending a pedophilia-themed costume party.

Disney may have a reputation for unapologetically enabling child groomers and pedophiles, but that appears to be of little concern to the Democratic Party as long as it can continue to rely on company executives for support and cold hard cash.
