During an interview with reporters today, Joe Biden defended violating the teachings of the Catholic Church by promoting abortion.
Biden’s aggressive promotion of abortion has made him the most pro-abortion president since the Supreme Court handed down the infamous Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. Biden even promoted abortion on demand in his State of the Union address last night, despite repeatedly claiming he is a faithful Catholic.
Noting that contradiction, a reporter asked Biden today, “As a Catholic, why do you support abortion?”
Biden immediately went on the defensive of his pro-abortion stance and said he didn’t want to “debate theology” or make a judgement about ending the lives of innocent children.
“I don’t want to get in a debate with you on theology … I’m not going to make a judgement for other people,” he said.
“But you’re Catholic!” the reporter reminded him.

Father Frank Pavone, the director of Priests for Life, told LifeNews in response: “When Biden, Pelosi, and the other abortion advocates are asked a question about law and policy, they try to hide behind theology. We don’t want to know about Biden’s theology, but about his honesty. There’s only one Catholic position on abortion: you protect the child in the womb. He doesn’t.”
“He refuses to answer a fair question about the contradiction, because he’s trying to have it both ways: please the abortion lobby and get the Catholic vote,” Pavone said.
Ironically, Biden’s comments came just after he attended Ash Wednesday service and he still had the visible marks of the cross on his forehead. Still, the pro-abortion president defended killing unborn children.
Biden used the State of the Union to promote abortion and called the killing of 63 million unborn babies since Roe v. Wade “health care.”
Although three is no right to abortion and ending the lives of babies before birth permanently deprives them of liberty and freedom, Biden said, “Advancing liberty and justice also requires protecting the rights of women.”
“The constitutional right affirmed in Roe v. Wade—standing precedent for half a century—is under attack as never before,” Biden said, celebrating the infamous Supreme Court decision that invented a so-called right to kill babies in aboritons tat has never existed in the Constitution.
“If we want to go forward—not backward—we must protect access to health care. Preserve a woman’s right to choose,” Biden said.
But the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group, took Biden to task for promoting abortion.
“Biden has repeatedly proven that he stands up for the abortion lobby, not the majority of Americans. So much for the “unity” he promised on the campaign trail,” it said. “In contrast to Biden’s efforts to pass the most extreme pro-abortion laws & stack his admin with abortion activists, an overwhelming majority of the American people (71%) want abortion to be limited to the first 3 months of pregnancy.”
“The reality is that his admin is the most pro-abortion administration in history,” it concluded.
Biden’s celebration of abortion came hours after he complained about Republicans, along with Democrat Senator Joe Manchin, defeating the Democrat bill to overturn every pro-life law nationwide and legalize abortions up to birth.
