Killing unborn babies in abortions is big business, and Planned Parenthood’s leaders are well compensated.

A new report from American Life League found that the average salary of a CEO at its 53 affiliates increased 89 percent over the past nine years, and two of its national leaders made more than $1 million, according to Breitbart.

The pro-life organization examined the salaries of the abortion chain’s national and affiliate CEOs and other high level management employees between 2011 and 2020. Because of its nonprofit status, Planned Parenthood publishes these publicly.

In 2020, the average salary of a Planned Parenthood affiliate CEO was $300,091, up from $158,797 in 2011 – an increase of nearly 89 percent, according to its report.

Here’s more from Breitbart:

Planned Parenthood CEOs’ average income places them in the 98th percentile of all workers in the United States, ALL noted. …

The report broke down the salaries of all 53 affiliate CEOs. Every single one makes more than $100,000 a year, 38 make more than $200,000, 23 make more than $300,000, 11 make more than $400,000, five make more than $500,000, and one person makes more than $600,000. The total compensation paid to all CEOs per year is $15.9 million.

National Planned Parenthood leaders make even more. According to the report, former Planned Parenthood CEO Leana Wen’s salary was $1,284,459 in 2019, and senior advisor Dawn Laguens made $1,151,786. Alexis McGill Johnson, who took over after Wen was fired, made $337,611 in 2020, and three additional employees made more than half a million each, the report found.

In comparison, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the highest paid federal government employee, makes $437,000 a year, said Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League, in a statement.

“There are nine CEOs of government-supported Planned Parenthood affiliates that make more than Fauci,” Sedlak said.

The organization found racial disparities within the abortion chain as well. According to Breitbart:

ALL looked into the races of all 53 affiliate CEO’s based on its 2019 or 2020 Federal Forms 990 and found that 90 percent of its CEOs are white, even though Planned Parenthood says 39 percent of its customers are people of color. Broken down by the numbers, the organization’s affiliates have three black CEOs, two Hispanic CEOs, and 48 white CEOs.

ALL found that the black Planned Parenthood CEO of Southwest Ohio Region had “the lowest compensation of any PP CEO in the nation,” even though her affiliate has a higher annual income than 16 other affiliates.

At least three Planned Parenthood leaders recently left the abortion chain after being accused of racism, including Laura McQuade, the former CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, former Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania Advocates executive director Emily Callen and Chris Charbonneau, the former CEO of Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana and Kentucky.

Planned Parenthood’s abortion numbers went up in the same time period as the salaries did. It reported 354,871 abortions, or about 40 percent of all abortions in the U.S., in its 2019-2020 annual report. In 2010, Planned Parenthood reported 329,445 abortions.

In those same years, the abortion chain also was accused of selling aborted baby body parts, aiding human traffickers, defrauding Medicaid, covering up sexual abuse, discriminating against minority and pregnant employees and more.

However, Planned Parenthood also is politically well-connected, and it has reported billion-dollar revenues, including hundreds of millions of tax dollars, in recent years.

Despite their high salaries, massive taxpayer funding and billion-dollar revenues, Planned Parenthood leaders want even more, Sedlak said. The abortion chain is lobbying to end the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to fund elective abortions through Medicaid for the first time in decades.

“This organization, whose executives are comfortably entrenched in the 1 percent, is demanding significant increase in government funding from the Biden administration,” Sedlak said. “Clearly, it is time that the United States Congress remove Planned Parenthood’s ‘charitable organization’ status and quit forcing American taxpayers to fund this profiteering parasite.”
