The pro-life group Tiny Heartbeat Ministries is pursuing legal action after it said a pro-abortion student destroyed their display with a knife and another stole their signs at Western Washington University.
Life Legal Defense Foundation, which is representing the pro-lifers, said they are seeking justice for the pro-lifers after the October incident.
“Life Legal is pursuing every legal avenue to ensure that the pro-aborts are prosecuted and that these deplorable crimes against pro-lifers are not repeated,” the pro-life legal group said Wednesday.
On Oct. 6, pro-life advocates with Tiny Heartbeat Ministries set up their Project Truth displays at Western Washington University, hoping to change minds and save lives by showing images that expose the violence of abortion against unborn babies. However, their effort quickly met hostility from students on campus.
According to Life Legal, pro-abortion students stole and destroyed several of the ministry’s signs and assaulted some of the pro-lifers. One even pulled out a knife and slashed a sign, nearly striking the pro-lifer who was holding it, the legal organization continued.
A short YouTube video posted on the ministry’s page showed pro-abortion students crowding around the pro-lifers and making obscene gestures at the camera.
The Front, the university student newspaper, also reported about the event, noting that several of the pro-life ministry’s signs were stolen or broken. However, it described the event as “mostly peaceful.”

According to the report:
The event remained mostly peaceful; however, one bystander threw an anti-abortion sign into Fisher Fountain. Another broke a separate anti-abortion sign with their foot, which led to University Police being called.
Andrew Kerin, executive director of Tiny Heartbeat Ministries, was helping direct the anti-abortion protesters.
“We’re out here because we believe abortion intentionally kills an innocent human being by decapitation, disembowelment and dismemberment,” Kerin said.
The Front also reported that the event “disbursed peacefully,” but photos from its report show police escorting the pro-life advocates to their vehicles to protect them from the pro-abortion activists who were following them.
Now, Life Legal is working to hold the pro-abortion activists accountable.
“Pro-aborts take these outrageous actions against pro-life campus witness because it is so effective in changing minds and in saving lives from the child-murder industry,” the legal organization said.
Vandalism, assaults and other attacks on pro-life advocates have become increasingly common. Earlier this week, a Texas pro-life organization received its second bomb threat in three months. Several pro-life student displays on college campuses also were vandalized this fall.
