Not only did Greg Youngkin win his race over pro-abortion Terry McAuliffe to become the governor of Virginia, the second highest ranking official in the state will be pro-life as well. Winsome Sears won her race to become Lt. Governor and she will be the first black woman to hold that position.

Sears defeated pro-abortion Democrat Hala Ayalalast night and told residents of the state that her agenda matters more than her skin color.

Sears, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.,said she was living the “the American dream” because her family were legal immigrants from Jamaica.

“I am at a loss for words for the first time in my life,” Sears said. ” So, I’m here because of you. I’m here because you voted for me, I’m here because you put your trust in me. That’s the only reason I’m here. Thank you.”

“I say to you, there are some who want to divide us and we must not let that happen,” she said. “They would like us to believe we are back in 1963, when my father came. We can live wherever we want, we can eat where we want, we own the water fountains. We have had a black president elected not once but twice and here I am living proof. In case you haven’t noticed, I am black and I have been black all my life.”

“But that’s not what this is about, what we are going to do is we are going to now be about the business of the Commonwealth,” she continued. “We have things to attend to, we are going to fully fund our historically black colleges and universities. You’re gonna hear from your governor-elect Glenn Younkin. And he’s got a day one plan that I’m already tired about, I don’t know how we’re gonna make it to day two. But he’s going to make sure we keep more of our money in our pockets because he’s going to get rid of all kinds of taxes. We’re gonna have safer neighborhoods, safer communities, and our children are going to get a good education because education lifted my father out of poverty, education lifted me out of poverty, education will lift us all out of poverty because we must have marketable skills so that our children can not just survive, but they will thrive, and they recreate generational wealth. That’s what this is about.”

She finished her victory speech by thanking Jesus.

“God bless you. And finally, want to thank my staff because I couldn’t have done it without them. We were a ragtag bunch of people. We ran an impossible, improbable, campaign against, God was exactly with us, otherwise, we would never have made it and so I want to finish up by thanking you, Jesus. How sweet it is,” she said.

Sears is strongly pro-life andsaid during the campaign that she supports the heartbeart bills to ban aboritons when an unborn baby’s heart starts beating.

“Well, I can tell you that would be me, that I would support [it],” Sears told Newsmax.

“Here’s the thing,” Sears said. “When did it become the wrong thing for us to support the babies in the womb? And in fact, in Virginia, we’ve even gone further than that, where our current governor wanted to take us — and, by the way, my opponent wanted to take us — there, where the baby would be born, you would leave the baby on the table without any assistance or even keep it comfortable, and then wait for the mother to decide.”

The head of one of the biggest pro-life groups said pro-life issues will be helpful for candidates moving forward.

“The pathway forward for the GOP in the 2022 midterms is clear: going on offense on life and refusing to cede the issue to pro-abortion Democrats is the key to victory,” SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews.
