Abortion Activists Vandalize Churches After Texas Bans Abortion, Smashing Windows and Slashing Tires

Pro-life advocates are being targeted in a string of threats, vandalism and other attacks after Texas enacted its life-saving new heartbeat law in September.

The latest crime occurred early Wednesday morning at a Catholic church in Boulder, Colorado, that had a pro-life display set up on its lawn for Respect Life month, according to the Denver Gazette. It is the second church in Colorado to be vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti in less than a month.

Local news reports and photos show extensive damage to Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, including smashed stained-glass windows, slashed tires and graffiti on the church maintenance truck, broken crosses, eggs smashed onto walls and spray-paint on signs, church walls, a vehicle and a statue.

Pro-abortion graffiti that reads “Jesus [heart]s abortion,” “hands off my uterus,” “my body my choice” and “no wire hangers ever” was spray-painted on the church walls, vehicles and signs, according to the reports.

CBS 4 Denver reports vandals also ripped up and broke hundreds of crosses that church members set up on the lawn to remember babies who have been killed in abortions, and spray-painted a bronze statue of Mother Teresa holding a child.

Mark Evevard, the youth director at the church, said this is not the first time the church has been vandalized, but this incident is worse than anything in the past.

“As I drove up, I saw the front signs and I saw the crosses, and as I got closer, I go ‘this is way worse than I had envisioned,’” Evevard told the local news.

He said many people have stopped by to support the church, and he hurts for the people who committed the crime.

“My heart kind of went out for them as far as you’ve gotta be really hurting to do this kind of destruction,” Evevard said.

The church is designated a historic building, so a specialty cleaning crew has to be hired to clean up the damage; there is no estimate on the cost to repair the damage yet, according to CBS 4.

Church leaders said their security cameras did capture images of the vandals.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it is investigating the crime, and it appears that several people were involved.

Another Catholic church in Louisville, Colorado also was vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti in September.
