White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki lobbed a personal attack a journalist Thursday after he asked a legitimate question about President Joe Biden’s Catholic faith and his support for abortion on demand.

During a press conference, EWTN Global Catholic Network reporter Owen Jensen asked Psaki about Biden’s contradictory beliefs after the president criticized the new Texas heartbeat law, which could save tens of thousands of babies’ lives. On Thursday, Biden, who professes to be a devout Catholic, announced a new campaign to thwart the pro-life law and ensure that unborn babies in Texas will continue to be killed in abortions.

“Why does the president support abortion when his own Catholic faith teaches abortion is morally wrong?” Jensen asked, according to a video posted by CBS News.

Psaki responded, “He believes that it’s a woman’s right, it’s a woman’s body and it’s her choice.”

Getting to the heart of the issue, Jensen asked a second question: “Who does he believe, then, should look out for the unborn child?”

Psaki ignored the question and instead attacked Jensen for being a man.

“He believes that it’s up to a woman to make those decisions, and up to a woman to make those decisions with her doctor,” she responded. “I know you’ve never faced those choices, nor have you ever been pregnant, but for women out there who have faced those choices, this is an incredibly difficult thing. The president believes that right should be respected.”

After watching the exchange, Townhall web editor Rebecca Downs responded to Psaki with a tweet about her own unplanned pregnancy. Downs said the experience gave her a new perspective on life, and she hopes her story will encourage other mothers to choose life.

“Unplanned pregnancies are tough, in different ways for different people,” she said. “Abortion is worse though. Also, stop it with the sass, Press Secretary. Your boss is a bad Catholic.”

Mary Margaret Olohan at the Daily Caller pointed out another contradiction with the White House’s messages about pregnancy and abortion.

“Psaki telling a man he never faces reproductive health choices and has never been pregnant sounds a little contradictory to WH messaging …” she responded on Twitter.

The reference is to Biden’s budget proposal, which uses the phrase “birthing people” instead of mothers to be more inclusive to transgender Americans. The assertion behind it is that men can get pregnant, too.

Biden’s views on abortion are radical and extreme, but Psaki repeatedly covers this up by deflecting or refusing to answer questions from journalists. She also has been rude to reporters who question Biden’s pro-abortion views. In August, she cut off Jensen when he tried to ask about Biden’s plans to eliminate the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayer to pay for abortions – a hugely unpopular position among Americans.
