Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a pro-abortion sex education bill into law Friday, ignoring complaints from Democrats and Republicans about the explicit, “sexually charged” curriculum that will be pushed on children as young as kindergarten.
Breitbart reports Pritzker praised state Senate Bill 818 as an initiative that will “help keep our children safe.”
The new law, which goes into effect immediately, requires public schools that provide sex education to follow the National Sex Education Standards. Parents may opt out their children.
The National Sex Education Standards were developed by abortion advocacy groups, including Planned Parenthood, Sister Song and Advocates for Youth. These “standards” teach children that an abortion is just a “medicinal or surgical procedure that ends a pregnancy” and instruct them on how to find abortion facilities in their area.
Pritzker claimed the new law will “modernize” sex education in the state and “ensure important lessons like consent and internet safety are taught in classrooms.”
“By working together, we’ll continue to strengthen our education system and deliver the bright future our kids deserve,” he said in a statement.

However, the law received push-back from Republican and Democrat lawmakers as well as concerned parents.
According to Breitbart:
State Rep. Tony McCombie (R) said during debate on the bill in May the goal of sex ed “is to help young people grow into healthier sexual relationships and healthier adults.”
“[The bill] is not age appropriate, it is sexually charged,” he asserted.
Illinois Rep. Fred Crespo (D) expressed concern that no other state had signed onto the NSES standards.
“The thing that bothers me the most is that, I know it’s permissive, but we’re telling schools that if you don’t use these standards you cannot teach sex ed,” he added.
Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood Illinois Action praised the governor on Twitter for signing the bill.
“Illinois youth will now receive inclusive personal health, safety, and sex education without shame and stigma,” the pro-abortion group wrote.
Actually, the new law will push sex and abortion on children from a very young age. Starting in kindergarten, children will learn to “define gender, gender identity, and gender role stereotypes,” the report states.
In middle school, children will start learning that abortion is a normal, acceptable “pregnancy option.”
According to the National Sex Education Standards report: “By the end of the 8th grade, students should be able to describe pregnancy testing, the signs of a pregnancy and pregnancy options, including parenting, abortion and adoption,”
In 9th and 10th grades, students will be instructed to analyze state and federal laws about abortion, “identify medically accurate sources” about abortion, and identify abortion facilities in their area.
It is clear from the report that those “medically accurate sources” include abortion facilities and pro-abortion advocacy groups.
The report thanks Planned Parenthood for providing materials and writings for the National Sex Education Standards as well as Planned Parenthood national director of education Sonya Norsworthy for her “valuable contributions to and feedback on drafts” of the report.
Monica Cline, a former Planned Parenthood sex education instructor who later became pro-life, told Breitbart previously that the National Sex Education Standards are nothing short of child abuse.
“By looking at the standards and resources the National Sex Education Standards provide, states who encourage adoption of this content are advocating for the abuse of our children by exposing our kids to obscene sexual notions and inappropriate ideas for their age,” Cline said. “Put simply, they are enticing and grooming our children for sexual activity.”
