Catholic University Will Host Joe Biden Town Hall, Even Though He’s Radically Pro-Abortion

A Catholic university in Ohio is facing criticism for its decision to host pro-abortion President Joe Biden at an invite-only town hall Wednesday with CNN host Don Lemon.

Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati expressed outrage after it learned about Biden’s plan to speak at Mount St. Joseph University, a Catholic school in Cincinnati, despite his radical pro-abortion record.

“President Biden carries responsibility for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of unborn lives,” the organization said in an email to supporters.

Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati is urging people to call the university and Archbishop Dennis Schnurr to respectfully request that they cancel the event and issue a public statement about the importance of protecting unborn babies from the evil of abortion.

Though Biden professes to be a devout Catholic, he openly defies church teachings about the sanctity of human life. After just 100 days in office, he already surpassed President Barack Obama as the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history.

The pro-life organization pointed out how Biden is trying to force taxpayers to pay for abortions by ending the Hyde Amendment, and how he recently began allowing abortion drugs to be sold through the mail, endangering both women’s and unborn babies’ lives.

“What compassion and charity is shown to the unborn when the university hosts a president who claims to be a Catholic, yet has the most pro-abortion administration in the history of our country?” the organization asked.

Mount St. Joseph describes itself as Catholic. According to its website, “The Catholic identity of the university is rooted in our mission, in the gospel values of service, compassion and charity, and in the legacy and vision of our founders, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.”

Lisa Bloomfield, of Delhi, a 2006 alumna of the university, said she felt extremely disappointed to hear that the university is hosting Biden.

“The fact that he is called a ‘devout’ Catholic because he attends Sunday Mass does not negate that his behavior is considered gravely sinful by Catholic Church teaching and is therefore opposed to any such status,” Bloomfield said. “It is not in the interest of the Sisters or any Catholic institution to play host to a man who promotes the killing of unborn innocent children.”

Catholics also protested when the University of Notre Dame honored Biden with a prestigious award in 2016 and had President Barack Obama speak on campus.

ACTION ALERT: Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati is encouraging people to take the following actions: Call Mount Saint Joseph University at 513-244-4200. Tell them this is unacceptable for a Catholic university and they should be ashamed to host a man responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent unborn lives.
