Pro-life Catholic voice Catherine Hadro recently called out a new pro-abortion children’s book for being “full of propaganda and deception” as it attempts to teach young children that killing unborn babies is normal.

According to the Catholic News Agency, Hadro, host of the EWTN show Pro-Life Weekly, said authors Carly Manes and “M” use colorful drawings and euphemisms to indoctrinate children through their book, “What’s an Abortion, Anyway?”

The authors, who identify themselves as abortion doulas, described their work as a “nonjudgmental book about abortion for children” that seeks to build “a world for kids and adults where abortion is normalized as another outcome of pregnancy just like miscarriage and birth.”

Once the book is published, they promised to donate 300 copies to public libraries across the country. They plan to release a Spanish version as well.

According to the blog Caldron Pool, the authors boasted that their book is the only one specifically written for children under the age of 13 that uses the word “abortion.”

Here’s more from CNA:

During a live reading, the two revealed the book’s contents online.

“Some people have an abortion,” they read their book in a video clip played by Pro-Life Weekly on June 26. “An abortion is when someone decides to stop growing their pregnancy. There are many different ways that people who are pregnant can have an abortion. Some people see a doctor who does a special procedure to remove the pregnancy from inside a person’s body. Other people take medicine to stop the pregnancy from growing bigger.”

The authors claimed they used “medically accurate” resources to write the book, but Hadro said their writing is anti-science.

“It denies scientific reality using the euphemism ‘a pregnancy’ for an unborn baby and calling mothers ‘people who are pregnant,’ as the book’s creators believe any gender can get pregnant and have an abortion,” she said.

Hadro said she does not believe the authors will succeed in hiding the truth from children.

“Euphemisms and colorful illustrations cannot mask the ugly reality of what an abortion is: The intentional killing of a young, small, vulnerable human being,” she said.
