In her new book, prominent pro-life advocate Lila Rose speaks of the need for society to recognize the humanity of the unborn child and the horrific violence of abortion against them.
Her book, “Fighting for Life: Becoming a Force for Change in a Wounded World,” came out this week.
Speaking with Breitbart News on Tuesday, Rose said she believes abortion is so prevalent in society because people do not think about what it really is.
“I talk in the book about the power of exposing the truth and showing the victim so that we can wake ourselves up,” she told Breitbart.
Rose, the president and founder of Live Action, is well known for going undercover at Planned Parenthood, exposing the abortion chain’s willingness to ignore sexual abuse and human trafficking and debunking its claims about mammograms and prenatal care.
She began Live Action at a young age after learning what an abortion does to a baby in the womb.
“As a girl, I actually had this encounter with abortion which just broke my heart,” Rose said. “It made me have the initial fuel or passion to start Live Action and start getting involved and that was when I saw this book called ‘Handbook on Abortion’ by Dr. and Mrs. Willke, and there’s the insert with images of abortion victims.”

She told Breitbart how thousands of unborn babies are “dismembered” or “suctioned apart” in legal abortions every day in America.
“These are human beings, and they’re being legally killed, and we’re just turning a blind eye,” Rose continued. “We have to do something about this. This is the human rights cause of our day, and so that inspired me to start Live Action.”
As a young girl, she said she saw what an abortion did to a 10-week unborn child – a baby who already had arms and legs and a face – and it broke her heart.
“I think anybody who’s actually taking the time to look at what abortion does to that embryo, that fetus, that preborn child, they are just broken by it,” she said.
Yet, for many in society, abortion victims have been “dehumanized,” she said. In her book, she challenges individuals, especially Christian leaders, to stand up and defend unborn babies from the violence of abortion.
Rose said American Christians lead such comfortable lives that they do not recognize “the battle that’s raging.” She urged the church to become more involved in the work to end abortion, and she said the change needs to start with individuals.
“What we have to do is humanize the child — and they’re so human, they’re so beautiful — and fight for their right to be born,” she said. “They are ignored by society. They’re seen as less than [human], and until you show their humanity and show the violence done to them, society will just continue to accept it, and that’s the fight for life.”
