Vermont’s Proposal 5 Would Make Killing Babies Up to Birth a Constitutional Right

We are all aware that important issues are facing pro-life Americans at every turn.

However, defeating the latest pro-abortion attempt, Proposal 5, in Vermont needs to grab everyone’s attention!

Planned Parenthood has made it clear that they are intent on bringing their terrible plan to every state in the nation should they succeed in Vermont.

Planned Parenthood is behind the push to alter Vermont’s Constitution with language to “enshrine” unlimited, unregulated abortion rights!

They are pushing Proposal 5 to add the language below to the Vermont Constitution:

[Personal reproductive liberty]

“That an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy is central to the liberty and dignity to determine one’s own life course and shall not be denied or infringed unless justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means.”

Robert P. George, Professor of Jurisprudence, Princeton University, offered the following commentary on the language of Proposal 5:

“People on both sides of the debate over abortion know that ‘reproductive autonomy’ is publicly understood to be a way of referring to an unlimited abortion license, that is, elective abortion permitted throughout the entire nine months of gestation and pregnancy up to and including the process of birth.”

Furthermore, members of the state House and Senate Committees clearly understood that the ramifications of the language they chose would have broad ranging implications.  For example, Vermont taxpayers could be forced to subsidize every abortion.

While the language centers around the phrase “personal reproductive autonomy,” promoters admit that the courts will decide what the phrase will ultimately be interpreted to mean.

A final vote in the Vermont House will occur in 2021 or 2022 and if passed the amendment will be placed on the November 2022 General Election ballot for a vote by the citizens of Vermont.

Don’t let a bad idea like Proposal 5 come to your state!
