Facebook whistleblower Cassandra Spencer wrote an exposé about the platform with damning claims of anti-conservative meddling.
The whistleblower who had contracted at Facebook had her life turned upside down after exposing Big Tech bias against conservatives at Facebook. Her tell-all book, “Impact: How I Went behind Enemy Lines in Our Struggle against the Far Left,” made some devastating allegations.
“[A]fter a few weeks on the job in Texas, she said she noticed that some profiles and pages were secretly marked in a way that would reduce the reach of their live videos,” Fox News reported. “She said in the following weeks she saw a pattern, and she only noticed such flags on pages belonging to conservatives, not to any liberals. And that they were hidden from the account holders.”
Spencer then reportedly reached out to guerilla journalism outlet Project Veritas and began to wear a hidden camera. Facebook reportedly fired her shortly afterward. Facebook did not respond to Fox News’s request for comment. Facebook did reportedly respond to liberal tech outlet The Verge, however.
“We fired this person a year ago for breaking multiple employment policies and using her contractor role at Facebook to perform a stunt for Project Veritas,” a Facebook spokesperson claimed, according to The Verge. “Unsurprisingly, the claims she is making validate her agenda and ignore the processes we have in place to ensure Facebook remains a platform to give people a voice, regardless of their political ideology.”
The extent of the leaks was noteworthy:
“The Veritas report includes 60 pages of documents and a related video, which features on-the-street confrontations with named Facebook employees. The documents, provided by a former Facebook contractor now employed by Veritas, include screenshots of Facebook employee discussions on moderation efforts, as well as an internal presentation discussing a racist troll campaign.”

Fox News explained: “After serving as an Army public affairs officer on the sidelines during the Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden leaks, Cassandra Spencer did work for Facebook as a contractor – and says she became a whistleblower herself.”
Spencer’s stance against Big Tech bias has demanded a steep price. “My life has been crazy since I made the decision to blow the whistle on Facebook,” she explained. “It has been, this year will mark four years since I originally contacted Project Veritas. And there is not a single day that I have ever regretted that decision.”
Conservatives are under attack. Contact Facebook via phone at (650) 308-7300 or (650) 543-4800, or by mail to 1601 Willow Road Menlo Park, CA 94025, and demand that the platform provide equal footing for conservatives: Companies need to make equal room for conservative groups as advisers to offset this bias. That same attitude should be applied to employment diversity efforts. Tech companies need to embrace viewpoint diversity.
