40 Days for Life Campaign Has Saved 353 Babies From Abortion So Far

We now know of 353 babies spared from abortion since February 17–with more reports coming in every day!

Abortion supporters argue that abortion is healthcare…but one step inside an abortion facility is enough to convince many women there’s something deeply disturbing about the practice.

“The people at the abortion clinic freaked me out,” a 17-week-pregnant mother told vigil participants in Sacramento, California.

The expectant mother had already seen an ultrasound and knew her child is a boy, but relationship problems with the child’s father led her to make an abortion appointment.

Vigil participants prayed with the woman, exchanged phone numbers, and offered support, but she went home noncommittal about continuing her pregnancy.

A week went by, and the Sacramento 40 Days for Life team didn’t hear from the woman. A text message went unreturned. Finally, Wynette called to check in and renew the offer to help.

“I’m doing okay,” she replied. “You guys really made an impact on me. I’ve decided NOT to have an abortion.”

Vigil participants were delighted and are planning to provide her with gifts. They might even celebrate Easter with her!

Little Rock, Arkansas

Two local pregnancy centers joined forces to place a mobile ultrasound in front of Little Rock’s Planned Parenthood facility.

That came in handy when 40 Days for Life volunteers persuaded a young, abortion-bound mom to have a free ultrasound.

“Sure,” she said. “I’m usually running late, but today, I’m early.”

When a vigil participant asked the mom whether she was excited, the frightened mother began to cry because she was terrified to break the news of her pregnancy to her mother.

“The ultrasound showed an amazing eight-week baby,” said campaign co-leader Toni. “She didn’t even bother keeping her appointment at Planned Parenthood.”

The expectant mother went home thankful for the support and encouragement and said she felt that the presence of vigil participants was a sign to keep her baby.

Mexico City, Mexico

Each morning, women in Mexico City line up for a limited number of first-come, first-served FREE abortions at the public hospital.

After unsuccessfully trying to get an abortion for two days, one abortion-minded woman tearfully called Claudia, the local 40 Days for Life leader. The worried mother said she already had two children–and couldn’t have another.

Claudia made an appointment to meet the mom the following day at the pregnancy center, where she could receive shelter and other support. The abortion-vulnerable woman didn’t show up, but Claudia waited…

…and she’s glad she did. An hour later, the woman came to the pregnancy help center, found the help she needed, and chose life!
