Planned Parenthood released its annual report on Friday and the numbers are incredibly grim. The new statistics make it clear that Planned Parenthood kills more babies in abortions than anyone in America — and the percentage is increasing.
As LifeNews reported: Its 2019 annual report, released this week, shows it aborted over 354,000 babies, an increase of over 9,000 babies killed in abortions compared to the year before. And the 2018 annual report showed Planned Parenthood killed 332,757 babies in abortions, which itself was an increase of 3.51% from the year prior.
That means Planned Parenthood killed almost 34,000 more unborn babies than it did two years ago — even though the abortion giant claims it’s main focus is merely women’s health care.
The numbers are even more shocking when compared to the total number of abortions in the United States.
For the year 2017, Guttmacher Institute estimated the number of abortions performed in the U.S. was 862,320. That was the last year the pro-abortion group formerly associated with Planned Parenthood released public abortion figures. And that number was the lowest in history. Meanwhile, the CDC, in its November 2020 report, indicated 619,591 babies had their lives ended by abortion in 2018. Those figures are incomplete becuase not every state reports, so the Guttmacher figures — obtained directly from abortion businesses as opposed to state health agencies — are considered more accurate.
When looking at the Guttmacher figures, Planned Parenthood killed 41.1% of all babies whose lives are unceremoniously ended in abortions every year. And compared to the CDC figures, Planned Parenthood kills 57.2% of all babies who die in abortions on an annual basis.
Most abortion clinics that are not affiliated with Planned Parenthood are operated as freestanding clinics that network with groups like the National Abortion Federation. And as more of those close, the Planned Parenthood behemoth takes on a bigger and bigger percentage of the market share of the abortion industry as the billion-dollar abortion company continues growing and expanding.

The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) responded to the new report.
“Planned Parenthood’s business is abortion, not health care. At a time when U.S. abortions overall have long been on the decline, Planned Parenthood is ending the lives of more than 354,000 unborn children a year,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
She added: “With Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House, we can expect this alarming trend to continue as Democrats seek to force taxpayers to bankroll abortion businesses at home and abroad, roll back FDA safety regulations on dangerous abortion drugs, and convert every pharmacy and post office into an abortion center – reversing decades of pro-life progress. The pro-life movement will work tirelessly to expose the Democrats’ extremism on abortion. We will never quit fighting to stop taxpayer funding of the abortion industry and provide the life-affirming alternatives women and families deserve.”
Chuck Donovan, President of SBA List’s research arm, Charlotte Lozier Institute, added:
“It’s a tragedy that abortions continue to increase at Planned Parenthood even as they decline all across the country. Women are paying a heavy price for this very wealthy organization to achieve its quotas and goals. Trends like this are exactly why Congress has limited family planning grants to exclude them from going to programs where abortion is a method of family planning. This is exactly the situation the American people have always strived to avoid.”
Though leaders at Planned Parenthood claim their radical pro-abortion stance and business represents the majority view of Americas, polls show otherwise.
A new nationwide poll conducted by the respected Marist College polling firm finds a majority of Americans are pro-life and oppose all or virtually all abortions that take place in America today.
The January 11-13 poll was conducted just days before the United States marked 48 years of legalized abortion, under which more than 62 million unborn babies have been killed. And the survey is consistent with other polls such as Gallup’s poll last year, that showed a majority of Americans take one of three pro-life positions opposing all or most abortions.
When asked, 51% of Americans take a pro-life position with 12% of Americans say abortion should never be permitted under any circumstance, 11% of Americans say abortions should only be permitted to save the life of the mother and 28% of Americans take a pro-life position opposing 98% of abortions except in cases of rape or incest or if necessary to save the life of the mother.
On the pro-abortion side, just 15% of Americans agreed with Joe Biden and Planned Parenthood’s position that abortion should be available any time during her entire pregnancy.
Interestingly, some 20% of Americans who called themselves “pro-choice” actually take one of three pro-life positions opposing all or most abortions.
The poll also found significant support for limits on abortions. More than three quarters of Americans (76%), including a majority who identify as pro-choice, want significant restrictions on abortion.
