Joe Biden Keeps Pushing “Unity” and “Healing” as He Forces Americans to Fund Abortions

President Joe Biden continued to preach about “unity” and “healing” on Valentine’s Day while quietly forcing Americans to fund abortion groups against their will.

The Federalist writer Margot Cleveland pointed out how Biden’s hypocrisy was on display again last week when he, his wife and their dogs held a photo op on the White House lawn.

On Friday, the Bidens walked a fawning press through a Valentine display that the first lady created, “nodd[ing] with approval at the large white, red, and pink heart-shaped cut-outs adorned with trite truisms: ‘unity,’ ‘healing,’ ‘love,’ and ‘compassion,’” Cleveland wrote.

These ideals are laudable, but they mean nothing if they are said but not acted upon. And Biden has not.

After calling for unity in his inaugural address, Biden quickly “began to divide the nation with the flick of his pen, signing a flurry of executive orders that pitted Americans against each other,” Cleveland wrote.

One of those orders rescinded President Donald Trump’s expanded Mexico City Policy, which prohibited taxpayer funding to international groups like the International Planned Parenthood Federation, which aborts unborn babies across the world and lobbies pro-life countries to legalize abortions.

Under Trump, Planned Parenthood’s international arm was defunded of about $100 million and the British-based abortion chain MSI Reproductive Choices lost about $73 million in U.S. tax dollars.

These two groups abort millions of unborn babies every year. Both abortion groups also have faced numerous scandals, including allegations of forced abortions, botched abortions that killed mothers as well as their unborn babies, sales of aborted baby body parts and failures to report sexual abuse of minors.

A 2020 investigation of the policy found “minimal disruption in health care,” meaning it affected abortions but not actual health care across the world.

Significantly, most Americans support what the policy does. A January Marist poll found that a strong majority of Americans – including a majority of Democrats – do not want their tax dollars to fund abortions overseas. According to the poll, 77 percent oppose using tax dollars to support abortion in other countries, including 55 percent of Democrats and 64 percent of pro-choice Americans.

Most Americans (58 percent) also oppose using tax dollars to fund abortions in the U.S., according to the Marist poll. Similarly, a Politico/Harvard University poll found that just 36 percent of likely voters supported taxpayer funding for abortions, while 58 percent opposed it. Other polls have found similar results.

If Biden truly wanted unity, he could have started with finding middle ground on abortion issue. Though abortion itself may be one of the most contentious issues in America today, taxpayer funding for abortion is not.

Americans are united in opposing taxpayer funding for abortions, and Biden could have acted on his promises by encouraging this. Instead, he did the bidding of the radical pro-abortion lobby, which spent tens of millions of dollars to elect him.
