Pro-lifers with Prestonwood Pregnancy Center in Texas have helped approximately 90,000 mothers choose life for their unborn babies in the past 30 years.

CBN News highlighted the pro-life organization’s life-saving work recently as its staff and volunteers celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Prestonwood has two locations and a mobile facility, including one across the street from a Planned Parenthood facility in the Dallas area, according to the report. It began in 1991 to offer hope and support to mothers and babies in need.

“I really believe that most people seeking an abortion are doing it for some very fundamental reasons,” executive director Leanne Jamieson told CBN. “Often there’s a great deal of fear surrounding their pregnancy, and because of that fear they’re really looking for some sort of answer, we might say hope – hope that pregnancy does not have to change their life in what they view to be a disastrous way.”

Jamieson said some of the women’s stories are heartbreaking, but she knows Christ can heal the broken.

“When that young woman or couple walks in through the door of our center, we see it as a divine appointment. And in our experience, they also are often broken and looking for hope,” Jamieson said.

The pregnancy resource organization provides free services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STI testing and treatment, education and other support for mothers and babies.

Since 1991, it has served about 100,000 patients and helped many of them come to Christ, according to the report.

“We are really there to help them problem solve and navigate their situation. I tell our volunteers and our staff if you are a good listener then God is going to open that door,” Jamieson said.

Across the United States, approximately 2,700 pro-life pregnancy centers provide vital support to pregnant and parenting families every year.

According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, these centers served almost 2 million people in 2019, providing more than 730,000 pregnancy tests, nearly half a million ultrasounds, 1.3 million packs of diapers and more than 2 million baby outfits.
