Planned Parenthood spent $45 million to get Joe Biden and other pro-abortion candidates elected to office last year, and now the Democrat president is returning the favor.

On Thursday, he is expected to sign two executive orders to reverse President Donald Trump’s pro-life policies that defunded the abortion chain of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars.

NBC News reports one of Biden’s executive orders will roll back Trump’s Title X policy, which defunded the Planned Parenthood abortion chain of more than $50 million taxpayer dollars.

Title X provides family planning and other health services for low-income individuals. Trump’s rule required agencies that participate in the program to either not do abortions or to completely separate their abortion businesses from their health services. Planned Parenthood could have complied with the rule, but instead it prioritized abortions over women’s health.

Some pro-abortion Democrat governors defied Trump’s effort by giving their state taxpayers’ money to Planned Parenthood instead. The abortion chain also challenged the rule in court, but, in 2020, a federal appeals court upheld it.

Politico reports Biden’s order will direct the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to begin rolling back the pro-life policy.

Here’s more from the report:

A source familiar with the plan told POLITICO that the order is also expected to reimpose the original standards for the federal program, which required clinics that provide subsidized family planning services to low-income patients to refer patients for abortions upon request. …

Once Biden signs the order, HHS could announce an interim final rule reflecting the policy change in 30 days. But it would take months longer for the hundreds of providers that left the program over the Trump administration’s ban on abortion referrals to reapply and rejoin their states’ networks.

Alexis McGill Johnson, the president of Planned Parenthood, admitted that Trump’s policy will have a lasting impact.

“It won’t just be like flipping a switch to get all the providers of the Title X program back in,” she said. At a news conference Tuesday, she also urged Biden to be “bold” and “really [push] forward an agenda” that supports abortion on demand, rather than just implement “incremental changes.”

Title X funds are supposed to be used to help low-income women and men receive birth control, cancer screenings and other health care services. While the tax money cannot be used to pay for abortions directly, it indirectly has funded Planned Parenthood’s vast abortion business for years.

A new poll from Marist this week found that an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose Biden’s plan to force taxpayers to fund abortions. According to the poll, 77 percent oppose using tax dollars to support abortion in other countries – which Biden plans to do Thursday by repealing the Mexico City Policy. Significantly, this includes a majority of Democrats (55 percent) and pro-choice Americans (64 percent).

Most Americans (58 percent) also oppose using tax dollars to fund abortions in the U.S., according to the Marist poll. Similarly, a Politico/Harvard University poll found that just 36 percent of likely voters supported taxpayer funding for abortions, while 58 percent opposed it.

The abortion industry is not hurting for money. Planned Parenthood has been reaping in billion-dollar revenues for the past several years. According to its most recent annual report, it aborted more than 345,000 unborn babies last year while collecting more than $500 million in taxpayer dollars.
